Bears' Ben Johnson Says He'll 'Do A Better Job' After Viral Sideline Interview Video
After his testy exchange during a sideline interview in Sunday's win over the Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is regretting how he handled things.
Johnson said Monday that he misheard the question from CBS Sports sideline reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala that led to his curt response, but he vowed to learn from his mistake.
"In the moment I, honestly, I didn't think too much of it," Johnson said, per ESPN's Courtney Cronin. "I'm kind of in game mode. But when I look back at it, I am a little bit disappointed with what that looks like. I didn't hear very well and that's not an excuse, but when I thought I heard, it was not a question, but I needed to make some changes, I didn't take that very well, so I'll do a better job with those going forward."

Johnson's sideline interview with Kinkhabwala went viral after he responded to her follow-up question of "Do you need to change what you're doing?" with, "I don't know, you think so? We're going to be just fine." He indicated Monday that he heard it as more of a statement on his team's approach rather than a question.
The Bears escaped with a 25-24 win thanks to a blocked field goal as time expired, so Johnson's mood surely lightened up after that.
Chicago will be on a bye in Week 5 before returning to action on Monday Night Football on Oct. 13 against the Washington Commanders.
