Anthony Edwards Wants to Set New Career Highs in Points When Playing Bad Teams
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is taking a new approach to this season's matchups against lower-tiered teams.

In 79 games last season, Edwards averaged a career-high 27.6 points while shooting a career-best 39.5 percent from three-point range. Still, he had lapses throughout the year with lackluster shooting performances and subpar scoring outputs.
Many feel that there's still another level Edwards can unlock to become an MVP-caliber player, so improved consistency this year could go a long way toward getting him there.
After leading the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals in back-to-back years, Edwards should be driven to finally break through and help the franchise earn its first trip to the NBA Finals. It sounds like he's bringing the right mindset to the 2025-26 season, so teams near the bottom should be on alert for their matchups against Minnesota this year.
