Phoenix's new unis feature black jerseys and shorts with purple and orange accents, a purple and orange logo on the shorts and "Phoenix" written on the front of the jersey in white.

Per NBA LockerVision, the Statement Edition uniforms are meant to "extend each teams' brand," and they often include "an alternate team color and/or a bold execution of the team logo identity, and features the Jordan Brand manufacturer logo."

The Suns further explained the Statement Edition uniforms on their website, writing that the new set "blends familiar elements from the team's modern look with bold updates inspired by the Phoenix culture and community."

There was particular emphasis on the beloved "Sunburst" logo on the shorts, with the organization calling it a "reinterpretation of the iconic Suns Sunburst logo, now filled with the Valley-inspired gradient."

While the Suns should look stylish on the court as they so often have throughout their history, there is reason to doubt the team's success in terms of wins and losses.

After making four straight playoff appearances, including a trip to the NBA Finals in 2021, the Suns dropped off considerably last season, finishing with a disappointing 36-46 record.

That led to the firing of head coach Mike Budenholzer after just one season on the job, the trading of Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets and the waiving of Bradley Beal.

Four-time All-Star guard Devin Booker is returning for his 11th season in Phoenix, but much of his supporting cast will be new.

That includes former Rockets guard Jalen Green and wing Dillon Brooks, former Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams and rookie first-round pick Khaman Maluach.

Given how deep and talented the Western Conference is, it is difficult to envision the Suns being legitimate playoff contenders this coming season.

Of course, if Green and Williams reach their immense potential, and Maluach is a major factor as a rookie, the narrative could quickly change.

Phoenix will open its preseason slate next Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers before hosting the Sacramento Kings in its regular-season opener on Oct. 22.
