Over/Under Win Predictions for Every NHL Team's 2025-26 Regular Season
The NHL returns in less than two weeks, and the sportsbooks are acting accordingly. We're starting to see opening odds for futures markets trickling in, and that includes individual team wins.
Using DraftKings' odds, here's a prediction for every NHL team's total wins over/under.
DraftKings Odds current as of Sept. 25, 2025
Anaheim Ducks
1 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 84.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: The Ducks are looking to follow up their 2024-25 season with a significant step forward. They made some "win now" roster improvements by acquiring Jacob Trouba and Chris Kreider. Their youth movement now has more experience, and Lukas Dostal is entering his prime at 25, following an excellent season in net.
Anaheim ended the season with 80 points last season -- three more wins should be doable.
Boston Bruins
2 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 80.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: We don't expect the Bruins to completely implode this season, but it's clear this is the start of a rebuilding era. There's a strong possibility that assets will be moved at the deadline, with Pavel Zacha and Casey Mittlestadt coming to mind.
If Jeremy Swayman doesn't get back to his best and the lack of quality center depth comes back to bite, it could be a long season in Boston.
Buffalo Sabres
3 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 85.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: Why would the Sabres jump from 79 points to at least 85 points this season? They didn't do enough to make tangible improvements this offseason.
Sure, we love Tage Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin as players. But that's not enough to see a big-enough jump in the standings.
Calgary Flames
4 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 82.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: The Flames are expected to take a step back this season and potentially trade Rasmus Andersson, so this one is trickier.
We agree with the oddsmakers that they will take that step back, but they ended last season with 96 points. We're not sure the fall off will be that significant here.
Carolina Hurricanes
5 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 105.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: The Hurricanes have perfected the regular season at this point, and they're back with a reinforced roster.
They just missed 100 points at 99 last season, but the three previous seasons ended with 111, 113 and 116 points respectively. Adding K'Andre Miller and Nikolaj Ehlers should help the Canes get back up in the 100s.
Chicago Blackhawks
6 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 67.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: Nothing to see here, folks. The Blackhawks still aren't under any type of urgency to win on a game-by-game basis.
Connor Bedard had a 67-point season last season, but that's got to improve, as well as support from his teammates around him.
Colorado Avalanche
7 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 103.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: The Avalanche are determined to start the season better than last year's, and even last year, they finished with 102 points.
They've got the tools with the goaltending situation sorted out, Brock Nelson on board, and a full season of Gabriel Landeskog.
Getting out of the West might be a question, but this is still one of the best teams in the NHL.
Columbus Blue Jackets
8 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 85.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: It's hard to imagine the Blue Jackets are going to remain in the same general atmosphere as they did last year with their 89-point season.
Zach Werenski will make things interesting as he auditions for Team USA, as will the youth movement and Jet Greaves, who is expected to take over the No. 1 goalie spot eventually. However, Columbus is likely to refocus on the rebuild this season, especially in the tough Metropolitan Division.
Dallas Stars
9 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 103.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: No one should scoff at a 100-point season or take it for granted, no matter how good the team is, but the Stars are pros at the regular season at this point, and they've got a full 82 on deck from Mikko Rantanen.
There's no reason to believe they'll end up with fewer points than any of their last three seasons, although losing Jamie Benn for the first four weeks of the season with a collapsed lung will be a blow.
Detroit Red Wings
10 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 84.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: The Red Wings completely turned things around halfway through last season and ended up with 86 points.
Anything less than an improvement upon last season will be a huge disappointment. If John Gibson can stay healthy, there's no reason Detroit will move backwards, especially if youngsters like Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider continue to develop.
Edmonton Oilers
11 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 103.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: The Oilers aren't particularly concerned with having a spotless regular-season record -- they're concerned with staying healthy for the ultimate goal of lifting the Stanley Cup.
Two straight seasons of making it to the Final and falling short is exhausting, and I wouldn't expect them to follow up their 101-point season with a few more wins -- nor does that matter.
Florida Panthers
12 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 105.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: With Aleksander Barkov now looking to miss a significant amount of time this season and Matthew Tkachuk out for at least the first half, we're not expecting the best regular season of all time for the Panthers.
They ended last year with 98 points, and it was essentially a masterclass in striking a balance between staying healthy for the playoffs and remaining engaged in the game. There's no reason to do too much.
Los Angeles Kings
13 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 98.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: It's hard to imagine the Kings will emerge as one of the top teams in the West after following up last season's hope with another first-round dud against the Oilers.
It's Anze Kopitar's last season and the additions made by new general manager Ken Holland leave a lot to be desired.
Minnesota Wild
14 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 95.5 Points
Over or Under?: TBD
Reasoning: We won't weigh in on this one until Kirill Kaprizov is signed safely and sound. The superstar has too significant an impact on this team to make any assessments until this saga is resolved.
If Kaprizov does extend, there's a lot to like about the team. Matt Boldy led Minnesota with 73 points and Brock Faber made Team USA's 4 Nations roster.
Montreal Canadiens
15 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 90.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: The Canadiens' line is probably the most accurate line the oddsmakers have set headed into this season, as the Canadiens look to improve upon their previous 91-point season.
Ninety-one was essentially the sweet spot for qualifying for the playoffs, so this is a question of: Will they make the playoffs again or miss? We really see this going either way, but with the Rangers and Islanders threatening to bounce back, we'll exercise caution and take the under.
Nashville Predators
16 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 86.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: In what world are the Predators jumping from 68 points to 86.5 points this season?
Seriously, unless their big-money free-agent signings from last year all have rebound season, Nashville will be much closer to its 2024-25 season.
New Jersey Devils
17 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 99.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: The Devils were at the top of the league when they were healthy last season and on pace for over 100 points before the injury bug bit.
They're returning with a lot of motivation and a chip on their shoulder to make it count this time. The key? Jack Hughes' health. If Hughes is healthy, there's no reason for the Devils to not be one of the best teams in the NHL.
New York Islanders
18 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 83.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: Mat Barzal is back, Matthew Schaefer has entered the chat, and Ilya Sorokin remains Ilya Sorokin. There's no reason the Islanders don't win at least one more game than they did last season.
New York Rangers
19 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 95.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: We're believers in the Rangers having a significant bounce-back year this season, but the situation is too unpredictable right now to claim they'll threaten to end with almost 100 points. You might want to wait a few weeks to suss out the vibes before you form an opinion on this one.
Ottawa Senators
20 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 95.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: The Ottawa Senators are here to stay, and they're in the sweet spot of "still caring about the regular season" and "perennial playoff team." They'll come back with some swagger.
Philadelphia Flyers
21 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 84.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: This is a huge year for the Flyers, with Trevor Zegras entering the fold, Rick Tocchet taking over as head coach, and Matvei Michkov continuing to break out. They might not make the playoffs, but they'll win a few more games this season.
Pittsburgh Penguins
22 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 78.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: Don't the Penguins want to own the retool, sacrifice a bit this season, then return to playoff contention as soon as possible? That would mean fewer than 79 points.
Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin's futures are in question. This feels like a team closer to the bottom than anywhere near their over/under line.
San Jose Sharks
23 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 70.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: The Sharks are another team that isn't under pressure to win on a game-by-game basis. They're going to start figuring it out and take those next steps, but they won't end up with 18 more points than last season.
Still, this doesn't mean it's going to be a lost season, even though there will be a lot of losses. Enjoy watching Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith and Michael Misa develop, Sharks fans.
Seattle Kraken
24 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 78.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: This team sorely lacks scoring pizzazz and didn't do much to move the needle in the offseason. Unless Shane Wright and Matty Beniers correct the course -- and quickly -- they aren't going to improve upon last season.
Losing Kaapo Kakko to injury in the preseason doesn't help.
St. Louis Blues
25 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 92.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: This is another almost too close to call over/under. On the one hand, the Blues were the hottest team in the second half of last season and finished with 96 points, despite a slow start.
On the other hand, it's pretty difficult to follow up a season like that with another 90+ point effort. We believe that with health and the confidence gained, they should be able to do it.
Tampa Bay Lightning
26 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 102.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: There's just no need for the Lightning to end with a 100+ point season. They managed 102 last season and still bowed out to the Panthers in the first round.
They might approach things a bit differently this time around and preserve some veteran health. This line still leaves room for a 100-point season anyway, which would be incredible.
Any team that has Nikita Kucherov, Jake Guentzel, Victor Hedman and Andrei Vasilevskiy is going to be very good. The question is if they can translate that into more.
Toronto Maple Leafs
27 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 99.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: The Leafs and their 108 points in 2024-25 were wildly impressive, and those points relied significantly on Mitch Marner's career year, with Auston Matthews struggling and injured.
Is Matthews still dealing with an injury? Can the Leafs cope without Marner? We don't believe the drop-off will mean missing the playoffs, but the new-look Leafs might struggle to find their footing early on with all the changes.
Utah Mammoth
28 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 92.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: The No. 1 goaltending spot has sorted itself out, and key injured players are coming back healed. If the scoring can get a little more consistent, you're looking at a step forward for the Mammoth.
Vancouver Canucks
29 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 90.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: How Canucks it all is, with the oddsmakers setting their over/under line at precisely half a point better than the end of their 2024-25 season's result?
Did the Canucks get .5 points better? There are too many moving parts to say, and then of course, there's Thatcher Demko's health. If he's truly healthy and plays most of the season, they could have a 90+ point season or better. Losing JT Miller and Pius Suter is tough.
Vegas Golden Knights
30 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 104.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: It's going to take a minute to figure out life without Alex Pietrangelo. If that results in a 103-point season, so be it.
Sure, they added Mitch Marner. But it's an open question to see if the defense can cope without Pietrangelo.
Washington Capitals
31 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 96.5 Points
Over or Under?: Under
Reasoning: The Capitals benefited from career years out of many key players last season. They shouldn't be penalized or anything for that, but you need to consider it when looking ahead to this season.
They shouldn't fall off too hard, and they could very well make the playoffs with Alex Ovechkin one last time. But they'll probably regress a bit.
Winnipeg Jets
32 of 32
DraftKings O/U Line: 97.5 Points
Over or Under?: Over
Reasoning: There's no question about it: This team loves the regular season, and it can easily follow up its 116-point 2024-25 with at least 98 points. The question is whether or not it will translate to the postseason.
