B/R Experts Week 4 NFL Power Rankings
One of the things that makes the NFL so much fun is that occasionally it takes the script for a week and sets it on fire.
Week 3 is still smoking.
Heading into the final game of the week, there were seven games that were decided in the last 2:30 of the game. For everything that went according to plan in Week 3, there were two that did not. Blocked field goals. Punt returns. A cornerback scoring two touchdowns. You name it, it happened.
It was the wildest week of the season so far—hands down. And that's saying something this year.
As they do every week, Bleacher Report NFL analysts Gary Davenport, Kris Knox, Maurice Moton and Brent Sobleski have gathered to sift through the week that was and slot the NFL's teams from worst to first.
Those two teams aren't all that surprising. But there's plenty in-between that is.
32. New Orleans Saints (0-3)
1 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 32
Week 3 Results: Lost vs. Seattle 44-13
Basically, everyone outside of the Big Easy viewed the New Orleans Saints as the NFL's worst team entering the 2025 campaign. No one should be surprised with the Saints' 0-3 start, while also being tied for the league's worst point differential. They're bad and continue to prove as much each weekend.
Does this team have the talent to turn it around and surprise some people? Probably not. Instead, it's never too early to look ahead and see what quarterbacks may be available with a top-three draft pick. For those curious, Indiana's Fernando Mendoza and South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers are the current frontrunners to be next year's QB1. -- Sobleski
31. Tennessee Titans (0-3)
2 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 30
Week 3 Result: Lost vs. Indianapolis 41-20
When the first pass your rookie quarterback completes is to a defensive player who returns said pass for a touchdown, it generally portends a long afternoon.
There are going to be a lot of long afternoons for Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans in 2025.
There's not much positive to take away from Sunday's lopsided loss. The Titans can't run the ball—Tony Pollard gained fewer than three yards per carry. They can't keep Ward upright—he's on pace to be sacked approximately 165 times. The Tennessee defense allowed 365 yards of offense, was savaged on the ground by Jonathan Taylor and allowed over nine yards per pass without a sack.
The only thing keeping Tennessee out of the basement of these Power Rankings is the New Orleans Saints. And while the Titans have no real choice but to be patient with Ward, the future of head coach Brian Callahan looking less certain by the week. -- Davenport
30. Miami Dolphins (0-3)
3 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 29
Week 3 Results: Lost vs. Buffalo 31-21
At 0-3, the Miami Dolphins' chances of making the playoffs in 2025 are extremely slim. However, Mike McDaniel's chances of avoiding the hot seat may be better than they felt coming into Week 3.
McDaniel had an excellent game plan against the rival Buffalo Bills, and his team showed a lot of fight against a hated opponent. The Dolphins haven't quit on their head coach just yet.
While moral victories don't really exist in the NFL, Thursday's performance might help prevent a total meltdown ahead of winnable games in Weeks 4 and 5. And if the Dolphins can even climb back into the playoff picture, McDaniel may position himself for another year.
The big question is whether Tua Tagovailoa, who had another underwhelming performance this week, will continue to have Miami's faith after this season. -- Knox
29. New York Giants (0-3)
4 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 27
Week 3 Result: Lost vs. Kansas City 22-9
OK, let's talk about when rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is going to start for the winless Giants. Because outside the play of running back Cam Skattebo Sunday night, we are running low on bright spots with Big Blue.
Home against the Los Angeles Chargers next week is no good—their secondary is among the best in the league. At New Orleans the following week is tempting, until you realize that after that comes two games with the Eagles (including one on a short week) sandwiched around a trip to Denver.
Week 9. At home against the San Francisco 49ers. The matchup isn't ideal, and an extra week to get ready would be. But the Giants' don't have a bye until Week 14, and based on fan reactions Sunday night they aren't waiting that long.
So, keep stacking losses and moving up the 2026 draft order for now. Because if Giants fans want Dart to succeed, it's wise for him to not spend the first month of his NFL career fleeing for his life. -- Davenport
28. Carolina Panthers (1-2)
5 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 31
Week 3 Results: Won vs. Atlanta 30-0
The Panthers defense came alive against the Atlanta Falcons. The unit created three turnovers, including a pick-six from cornerback Chau Smith-Wade. Carolina's offense didn't need to do much in what turned out to be a blowout victory.
However, the growing connection between quarterback Bryce Young and this year's eight overall draft pick, wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, is promising. McMillan has 216 receiving yards through his first three professional appearances, while leading the squad with 27 targets. The two don't always connect, but a legitimate No. 1 target will go a long way as the season progresses. -- Sobleski
27. New York Jets (0-3)
6 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 26
Week 3 Results: Lost vs. Tampa Bay 29-27
The New York Jets didn't seem to miss much, if anything, offensively with Tyrod Taylor in at quarterback for Justin Fields on Sunday. New York doubled the previous week's point total even before adding seven on a blocked field goal and a 50-yard touchdown return by Will McDonald IV.
What's alarming about the Jets through three weeks is the fact that their defense keeps struggling. It surrendered 64 points over the first two weeks and crumbled when it needed one last stop in Week 3.
This isn't what Jets fans expected when former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn was hired as head coach. It's worth noting, though, that the Jets had a league-worst defense during Robert Saleh's first season before fielding a top-five unit in Year 2.
Turning around this franchise was never going to be a short process. -- Knox
26. Cleveland Browns (1-2)
7 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 28
Week 3 Result: Won vs. Green Bay 13-10
The Cleveland Browns aren't going to win many games this year, but their defense can help them get a few victories and force some of the league's top teams to earn every point in competitive battles.
After giving up 41 points to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2, Cleveland's defense held the Green Bay Packers to 10 points last Sunday.
As was the case in Week 3, the Browns are capable of upsetting any team if their defense keeps them within a couple of scores. -- Moton
25. New England Patriots (1-2)
8 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 24
Week 3 Results: Lost vs. Pittsburgh 21-14
The New England Patriots kept it close against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. However, their defense couldn't corral Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers when it mattered most, and a failed 4th-and-1 attempt on the ensuing drive sealed it.
The Patriots desperately need to find some defensive improvements because Drake Maye and the offense remain a work-in-progress. 14 points won't be enough to win many games.
Reliable receivers remain elusive in New England, though 2024 receiving leader Hunter Henry did have a good outing in Week 3. Maye's supporting cast is better than it was a year ago, but that doesn't mean it's particularly good. -- Knox
24. Houston Texans (0-3)
9 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 18
Week 3 Result: Lost vs. Jacksonville 17-10
You will undoubtedly hear a lot this week out of Houston about how the Texans are not going to panic. How they will stay the course. Play their game. All that happy claptrap.
The Texans should panic—because their game right now is losing.
Houston has all but given up on the run—despite averaging 4.6 yards per carry against Jacksonville, the team ran the ball just 19 times. With C.J. Stroud being forced to drop back and throw constantly behind a suspect offensive line, he has been under constant duress—two sacks and six QB hits against the Jaguars was actually a good day for the Texans' line.
Three games into the season, the winless Texans are averaging an NFL-low 12.7 yards per game. A team who was the favorite in the AFC South is being outscored by the Cleveland Browns. -- Davenport
23. Las Vegas Raiders (1-2)
10 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 22
Week 3 Results: Lost vs. Washington Commanders 41-24
The Washington Commanders don't have a legitimate pass-rusher on their roster. No, Von Miller doesn't count at this stage of his career. This fact makes the Raiders' inability to properly protect quarterback Geno Smith even more alarming.
Washington sacked Smith five times, hit him on eight occasions and applied numerous pressures. The Raiders offensive line is in shambles right now, because it's struggling to win one-on-one matchups and pick up games. If Las Vegas can't properly protect its quarterback, the trade for Smith will have been negated. Furthermore, the group needs to open holes for this year's sixth overall draft pick, Ashton Jeanty, who is currently averaging 3.1 yards per carry through three games. -- Sobleski
22. Dallas Cowboys (1-2)
11 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 21
Week 3 Result: Lost vs. Chicago 31-14
The big storyline in Big D this week will be the health of wide receiver CeeDee Lamb's ouchie ankle. But what folks deep in the heart of Texas should be worried about is the Dallas defense.
Because it's bad. Really bad.
Entering Sunday's game in Chicago, Dallas was 30th in total defense and 27th in scoring defense—and neither of those numbers are going to improve after the Cowboys gave up 385 yards and 31 points to a Chicago offense that had struggled over its first two games.
Granted, turning the ball over four times didn't help. But the Cowboys are an atrocious defensive team—especially against the pass. And now they have to face an angry Green Bay Packers team—potentially without Lamb.
The Cowboys' season will be over before we even hit October. I said it. – Davenport
21. Atlanta Falcons (1-2)
12 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 17
Week 3 Results: Lost vs. Carolina 30-0
The Falcons need more from quarterback Michael Penix Jr. The second-year quarterback missed throws and chucked two interceptions against the rival Carolina Panthers. His day ended on the bench after the game was out of reach.
One weekend's outcome doesn't carry into the next week of play. However, this one has to sting after the Panthers dominated the Falcons for the former's first win of the season. Atlanta has plenty of talent in every area of the roster, but Penix is far too inconsistent at this point to take full advantage of the skill found around him. -- Sobleski
20. Chicago Bears (1-2)
13 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 25
Week 3 Results: Won vs. Dallas 31-14
It appears that it's too early to throw in the towel on the Ben Johnson era in Chicago. The Bears thumped the Cowboys in Week 3, and in the process, they finally saw Caleb Williams and the offense explode.
Williams threw four touchdown passes in arguably his best game as a pro to date. Chicago's defense, meanwhile, did enough to limit a Dallas offense that lost CeeDee Lamb early, giving the Bears the opportunity to pull away late.
Of course, it's also too early to start comparing Johnson and Williams to Bill Walsh and Steve Young—Dallas' defense is that bad.
However, Chicago just earned the sort of victory that provides legitimate hope for where the Johnson-Williams partnership can go. -- Knox
19. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1)
14 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 23
Week 3 Result: Won vs. Houston 17-10
The good news is that after besting the Texans in a game that fans should have been paid to watch, the Jacksonville Jaguars are 2-1 to open the season.
The bad news for the Jaguars is just about everything else.
To be fair, the Jaguars were improved defensively in Week 3 relative to last week's meltdown in Cincinnati—the Jags gave up just one touchdown forced three turnovers and held the Texans to just 271 yards of offense.
But the offense that new head coach Liam Coen was supposed to unlock was mostly MIA again. Trevor Lawrence completed just 50 percent of his passes and threw another pick. Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. was mostly a non-factor for the third time in as many games. And Jacksonville managed just 86 yards on the ground.
Could these Jaguars beat an injury-ravaged 49ers team in Santa Clara next week? Maybe.
Are they any kind of real factor in the AFC? Not looking like this. – Davenport
18. Cincinnati Bengals (2-1)
15 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 14
Week 3 Result: Lost vs. Minnesota 48-10
While everyone knew the Cincinnati Bengals would miss quarterback Joe Burrow (turf toe), most expected a more competitive team, considering Jake Browning filled in for him in the second half of the 2023 campaign.
The Bengals' 38-point loss to the Minnesota Vikings indicates they have more than a backup quarterback issue. No need to panic, but Cincinnati must get back to the basics defensively and allow Browning time to settle in with his teammates. -- Moton
17. Arizona Cardinals (2-1)
16 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 15
Week 3 Result: Lost vs. San Francisco 16-15
The Arizona Cardinals are still learning to beat quality opponents in big games. The Cardinals failed to capitalize on multiple opportunities that could've helped them build a bigger lead or close out the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday.
Marvin Harrison Jr. dropped a wide-open pass and another in the end zone. Fellow wideout Zay Jones didn't haul in a big catch in a crucial third-down scenario.
Playoff teams develop clutch playmaking ability in key moments. Calais Campbell is a dominant closer on the defensive side of the ball, but the Cardinals offense must execute late in games for this team to rise in the standings and in these power rankings. -- Moton
16. Denver Broncos (1-2)
17 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 12
Week 3 Results: Lost vs. Los Angeles Chargers 23-20
Back-to-back heartbreaking losses can be tough to overcome, but the Broncos are more than capable of doing so. After losing to the Indianapolis Colts thanks to a mental error on special teams after time had already expired, the Los Angeles Chargers scored 10 points in the final three minutes of Sunday's contest to claim a victory.
The real concern for Denver is how its vaunted defense has performed. The unit allowed 849 yards over the last two weeks of play. No wonder the team has failed late in contests. It can't stop anyone right now. Fortunately, three of Denver's next three games are against opponents led by Jake Browning, Russell Wilson and Tyrod Taylor (or Justin Fields). Things could change course quickly. -- Sobleski
15. Minnesota Vikings (2-1)
18 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 19
Week 3 Results: Won vs. Cincinnati 48-10
Let's not go overboard about Kevin O'Connell's ability to coach up quarterbacks or the possibility of Carson Wentz being the next great QB comeback story. Wentz did operate O'Connell's offense efficiently in Week 3, but it was Minnesota's defense that dominated.
The Vikings also got strong contributions from Jordan Mason and the ground game, days after starter Aaron Jones was placed on injured reserve.
That's noteworthy because Minnesota is going to get rookie mistakes out of J.J. McCarthy when he's healthy enough to return. If the Vikings can support McCarthy with great defense and a strong running game—as they did in Week 1—they can stay in the playoff picture while continuing to develop their young quarterback. -- Knox
14. Seattle Seahawks (2-1)
19 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 20
Week 3 Result: Won vs. New Orleans 44-13
The Seattle Seahawks won't get much push in the power rankings for beating up on the winless New Orleans Saints, though they've been fun to watch, scoring 75 points over the last two weeks.
Nonetheless, Sam Darnold's 2024 Pro Bowl campaign in Minnesota doesn't look like a fluke. Watch out for the Seahawks as he becomes more comfortable in offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's system. If Kenneth Walker III stays healthy as Zach Charbonnet works his way back to action from a foot injury, Seattle will have a balanced offense to complement its ascending defense. -- Moton
13. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1)
20 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 13
Week 3 Result: Won vs. New England 21-14
The Pittsburgh Steelers gave up more than 30 points in Weeks 1 and 2, and it finally looked like the unit many expected to see when the team added cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay.
Last week, against the New England Patriots, the Steelers forced four fumbles and recovered all of them. They also picked off one of Drake Maye's passes in the end zone late in the second quarter.
Pittsburgh will likely need a few more weeks to hit its stride following an offseason with several roster changes, but the team is trending in the right direction ahead of its trip to Ireland. -- Moton
12. Indianapolis Colts (3-0)
21 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 16
Week 3 Result: Won vs. Tennessee 41-20
OK, so the Colts may actually be a thing.
Beating the hapless Titans isn't exactly a Herculean Task. But the Colts didn't just win the game. They dominated it from start to finish.
Running back Jonathan Taylor has been on a rampage, gashing Tennessee for over 100 yards, six yards a pop and three scores. Daniel "Indiana" Jones is the first player in the Super Bowl era with three passing touchdowns, three rushing scores and zero turnovers over the first three games of the season.
Are these Colts on the level of the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens? Let's not lose our heads—their opponents this season have combined for all of one win. But a few weeks ago, most would have written in the Rams as easy winners when Indy travels to Los Angeles in Week 4.
Right now, the team doing the easy winning is Indianapolis. -- Davenport
11. Washington Commanders (2-1)
22 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 10
Week 3 Result: Won vs. Las Vegas 41-24
Yes, Sunday's decisive win over Vegas came against a Raiders team that has Pete Carroll wishing he would have stayed retired, but what Washington did in Week 3 could reverberate throughout their season.
Regardless of the opponent, this was a gut-check game, especially in light of Philly's wild comeback over the Rams. Without their starting quarterback and top running back, had the Commanders fallen Sunday they would already be two back in the NFC East.
Instead, Marcus Mariota again showed why he's maybe the best backup quarterback in football, posting a passer rating of almost 120 and rushing for a score. The Commanders got a score on special teams. And a team with lofty aspirations did what contenders do—weather the storm and beat teams you should.
Of course, they almost killed their own coach. But hey—no one's perfect. -- Davenport
10. San Francisco 49ers (3-0)
23 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 11
Week 3 Result: Won vs. Arizona 16-15
The San Francisco 49ers don't need style points to be a top team in these power rankings. They've won all three of their games by five or fewer points, which has tested their mettle.
Thus far, the battle-tested 49ers are atop the NFC West, and they have two wins with backup quarterback Mac Jones, who aggravated a knee injury last Sunday. Kudos to Eddy Pineiro for his game-winning kick to maintain San Francisco's unblemished record.
Still, injuries continue to ravage the Niners--star edge-rusher Nick Bosa is reportedly out for the season after tearing his ACL Sunday -- Moton
9. Kansas City Chiefs (1-2)
24 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 9
Week 3 Results: Won vs. New York Giants 22-9
Things aren't quite right with the Chiefs. Still, Andy Reid's team found a way to win on Sunday Night Football against the New York Giants. Two important areas of growth occurred during this particular contest.
First, the Chiefs finally ran the ball with some confidence. Prior to Sunday's contest, quarterback Patrick Mahomes was the squad's leading rusher. Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt combined for 79 yards on 20 carries. It's not a huge number, but neither back managed more than 31 yards during the first two contests.
Second, fourth-year wide receiver Tyquan Thornton is turning into a legitimate threat. He caught five passes for 71 yards and a touchdown against the Giants. His targets and yardage output have increased each week, thus giving Mahomes the type of weapon the offense previously lacked. -- Sobleski
8. Baltimore Ravens (1-2)
25 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 4
Week 3 Result: Lost 38-30 vs. Detroit
Three weeks into the season, the Baltimore Ravens need a reset. They gave up a 15-point fourth-quarter lead in Week 1 and suffered a tough loss at home on the Monday Night Football stage.
Aside from a dominant 41-17 win over the Cleveland Browns, the Ravens defense has been atrocious, giving up 79 combined points to the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. Derrick Henry is the only player who has fumbled every week thus far this season.
In recent years, Baltimore has struggled in big moments, but this year's group is sloppy with an unreliable defense. Ravens fans should be mildly concerned with their team's 1-2 start. -- Moton
7. Los Angeles Rams (2-1)
26 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 6
Week 3 Result: Lost vs. Philadelphia 33-26
In Week 3, the Los Angeles Rams led the Philadelphia Eagles for nearly the entire game, but their defense and special teams unit cost them in the fourth quarter.
As long as Matthew Stafford stays healthy, Los Angeles will be in the playoff picture and push the top contenders to their limits. However, the Rams' loss to the Eagles exposed a weakness in their secondary. They need cover men to match up with big-time receivers like A.J. Brown and force turnovers when their front seven doesn't get to the quarterback. -- Moton
6. Green Bay Packers (2-1)
27 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 3
Week 3 Results: Lost vs. Cleveland 13-10
Anyone who crowned the Packers as the new best team in football may have done so prematurely. What we saw from Green Bay over the first two weeks wasn't exactly a mirage, but championship-caliber teams find ways to win mistake-filled games on the road.
Yes, injuries along the offensive line made things incredibly difficult for Jordan Love and the Packers offense, but Green Bay still should have moved to 3-0. A late, ill-advised interception by Love and a blocked go-ahead field goal let Cleveland back in the game.
The good news is that Green Bay isn't going to face a defensive front as disruptive as Cleveland's every week. The bad news is that the Zach Tom and Aaron Banks injuries loom large. -- Knox
5. Detroit Lions (2-1)
28 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 7
Week 3 Result: Won 38-30 vs. Baltimore
The Detroit Lions continue to put their Week 1 disaster behind them. The losses of former coordinators Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn no longer loom as large as they did against Green Bay.
New offensive coordinator John Morton was particularly impressive against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. Detroit showcased a couple of creative plays reminiscent of Johnson's offenses. He also helped orchestrate two drives of over 95 yards and helped create 426 total yards.
While Kelvin Sheppard's defense wasn't quite as potent, it consistently pressured—and sacked—Lamar Jackson, which isn't easy to do. It also had a fantastic goal-line stand and a critical fourth-quarter takeaway.
Detroit may or may not remain the team to beat in the NFC North, but Lions fans should feel good about their chances after moving to 2-1. -- Knox
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-0)
29 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 8
Week 3 Results: Won vs. New York Jets 29-27
Much to the chagrin of Cleveland Browns' faithful, who basically ran off the franchise's best quarterback since its return to the NFL in 1999, Baker Mayfield has emerged as one of the league's top quarterbacks, particularly in clutch situations.
The Buccaneers emerged victorious in each of their first three games thanks to game-winning drives with less than a minute remaining. Mayfield rallies the troops and they respond. His competitiveness and playmaking when needed the most are a joy to watch on a weekly basis. The Buccaneers believe in him, and he continues to deliver. Though his job got a little harder Sunday when future Hall of Fame wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a hamstring injury. When he'll be ready to play again has yet to be determined. -- Sobleski
3. Los Angeles Chargers (3-0)
30 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 5
Week 3 Results: Won vs. Denver Broncos 23-20
Cue the classic Jeffersons' theme track, because the Chargers are movin' on up. At 3-0, the Chargers already hold a two-game lead over everyone else in the AFC West. Will they find a way to Charger this situation and screw it up? With the way Justin Herbert is playing, the possibility seems unlikely.
It may be too early to say, but Herbert is playing at an MVP-caliber level. The Chargers coaching staff has loosened the reins and given its quarterback full control of the offense instead of trying to establish a physical run game at the onset of every game. Herbert has the ball in his hands on early downs. He's delivered with 860 yards and a six-to-one touchdown-to-interception ratio through three games.
Keenan Allen has also been excellent in his return. The long-time Chargers standout has a touchdown reception in each game so far. -- Sobleski
2. Buffalo Bills (3-0)
31 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 2
Week 3 Results: Won vs. Miami 31-21
The Bills continue to look like the team to beat in the AFC, largely because of their Week 1 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore probably has the more balanced overall roster, but Josh Allen is still playing MVP-level football.
Thursday night's win over the Dolphins was closer than the final score might indicate, which might concern some fans. However, short-week games against familiar division rivals are often closer than expected.
McDaniel and the Dolphins know how to attack a Bills defense that is more good than great. Buffalo's offense—and a timely Terrel Bernard pick—were enough to counter.
Great teams find ways to win ugly games. Buffalo should actually feel pretty good that it played one on Thursday and still won by 10. -- Knox
1. Philadelphia Eagles (3-0)
32 of 32.jpg)
Last Week: 1
Week 3 Result: Won vs. Los Angeles Rams 33-26
When the Philadelphia Eagles trailed the Los Angeles Rams 26-7 in the second half in Week 3, it appeared for a moment that the grumbles surrounding the team could have some merit. That Philadelphia's struggling pass offense was a legitimate problem.
Yeah, about that.
The Eagles played like the defending Super Bowl champions after spotting the Rams that big lead, peeling off 27 unanswered points. On a day where Saquon Barkley was held in check wide receiver A.J. Brown stepped up, eclipsing 100 receiving yards after being invisible over the season's first two weeks. And when they needed to, the defense flipped a switch and clamped down.
Things don't get any easier next week—a trip to face a 3-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that beat the Eagles last season. But Philly's big comeback against a good Rams team was a reminder that Philly remains the team to beat in the NFC -- Davenport
