Tom Brady Called Out by NFL Exec amid Raiders Rumors, 'You Can't Do It All'
After being seen in the coaches box for the Las Vegas Raiders wearing a headset during Monday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Tom Brady's dual-role as a minority owner of the franchise and television analyst for Fox Sports is generating a lot of discussion within the NFL.
Per The Athletic's Dianna Russini, one front office executive for a rival team said they were "confused" by what Brady is trying to do.
"I'm just confused," the executive said. "What does he want to do? Owners own, coaches coach, players play. Broadcasters broadcast. You can't do it all."

As Russini put it, Brady is currently "trying to do it all" as the face of Fox's NFL coverage and "being a decision-maker in Las Vegas, without ever fully admitting it."
After ESPN's Peter Schrager reported during Monday's game that Brady speaks with Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly multiple times per week leading up to games, head coach Pete Carroll denied that was the case when asked about it.
Carroll did say the coaching staff has conversations with Brady, but it's general stuff "about life and football." Kelly told reporters on Thursday that Brady will talk football with him, but he's not involved with game-planning.
Brady's status as an owner of the Raiders does create a conflict of interest with his role as a broadcaster for Fox. The league did loosen some of the rules he has to abide by for this season, specifically letting him take part in virtual production meetings with coaches and players for the teams he will be covering that week.
However, the upcoming schedule does raise some questions. Fox's No. 1 broadcast team, including Brady, will be on the call for the Dallas Cowboys-Chicago Bears game on Sunday. Next week, the Bears will be playing the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.
Russini noted Brady spoke to Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, head coach Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Dennis Allen in advance of the Cowboys game.
Appearing on SiriusXM's Mad Dog Radio this week (h/t Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio), former Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said Brady had "conversations about certain things" with them last season.
According to Russini, the response from within the NFL is "mixed" over Brady's roles. She added one team has instructed their coaches and players to "keep everything basic and simple" in production meetings.
One team owner told Russini the Raiders are "getting an unfair advantage whether they capitalize on it or not."
Amid the public questions raised after Brady's appearance in the Raiders' coaching box on Monday, the NFL said on Tuesday there's no policy banning an owner from sitting in the booth or wearing a headset.
