2025 NFL Trade Block Big Board Entering Week 3

Kristopher KnoxSep 15, 2025

We're just two weeks into the season, but some teams already look like they could use reinforcements—or, perhaps, have a piece to spare because they're not going anywhere in 2025.

Trades will happen between now and the November 5 deadline, and we're here to examine the best and most realistic targets for teams looking to make a move.

Here, you'll find our top 10 trade targets ranked based on their upside, past production, positional value, contract status, likely availability, projected price point, and recent buzz. The value and likelihood of being traded are weighed equally against overall talent level.

We'll also examine some potential suitors for each player—based primarily on updated team needs, injuries, and any relevant recent buzz—and project trade values based on factors such as positional value, player upside, player age, and any comparable recent deals.

Which players are most likely to be available entering Week 3? Who should be at the top of teams' lists of targets? What do these players likely cost? Let's dive in.

10. Allen Lazard, WR, New York Jets

Jets WR Allen Lazard

Projected Trade Value: 2026 6th-Round Pick

After being a healthy scratch in Week 1, New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard was active in Week 2—though, likely only because Josh Reynolds was not. He finished New York's game against the Buffalo Bills without a catch.

While the Jets decided to keep Lazard this offseason after adjusting his contract, they'd probably be interested in getting something of value for him now. The 29-year-old doesn't appear to be a strong fit for Tanner Engstrand's offense, and he's set to be a free agent in 2026.

After starting the season 0-2 and watching Justin Fields exit with a concussion, the Jets could see their season slip away rather quickly.

Plenty of teams need receiver help, and Lazard is a 6'5" pass-catcher who had 530 receiving yards a year ago. He should bring a bit more than the Day 3 pick swap the Carolina Panthers got for Diontae Johnson at last year's trade deadline.

Potential Suitors: New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers

9. Jerome Ford, RB, Cleveland Browns

Projected Trade Value: Conditional 2026 7th-Round Pick

The Cleveland Browns got blown out in Week 2, but they weren't exactly expected to be good in 2025. Sunday's loss might have been more noteworthy because cornerback Denzel Ward spent most of the game on the sideline with cramps and because rookie running back Quinshon Judkins made his NFL debut.

Ward has a history of missing a few games each year, and his latest ailment could cause Cleveland to hang onto impending 2026 free agent Greg Newsome II for now—Newsome held the No. 9 spot on last week's board.

Judkins' presence should make running back Jerome Ford expendable. Maybe.

The caveat here is that, while Judkins was not charged with domestic violence for his July arrest, he's still being investigated by the NFL and could face suspension.

Ford, though, seems to be falling out of favor in Kevin Stefanski's offense. He saw just seven touches in Week 1 and was mostly in a receiving-back role in Week 2—he did have five catches.

With Ford set to be a free agent in 2026, the Browns may take what they can get for him now. That may not be a lot, but Ford has breakaway speed and has topped 500 rushing yards in each of the past two seasons.

Potential Suitors: Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs

8. Evan Neal, OL, New York Giants

Projected Trade Value: Conditional 2026 7th-Round Pick

Another week brought another instance of the New York Giants making 2022 first-round pick Evan Neal a healthy scratch. The fact that Neal has stayed on the sideline in consecutive weeks while starting left tackle Andrew Thomas (foot) has been sidelined is telling.

Neal never developed into a reliable starter at tackle, and the Giants tried moving him to guard. Now, though, he's not even considered good enough to provide depth on an offensive line that desperately needs it.

It's hard to believe, but Neal's value—both to prospective employers and to New York as a trade chip—continues to drop.

For teams willing to take a flier on Neal, though, he does have untapped potential and that always-alluring first-round pedigree.

7. Mazi Smith, DT, Dallas Cowboys

4 of 10
Cowboys Seahawks Football
Cowboys DL Mazi Smith

Projected Trade Value: 2026 6th-Round Pick

The start to Mazi Smith's NFL career hasn't been any more impressive than the start to Neal's.

A 2023 first-round pick out of Michigan, Smith has appeared in 34 games and played 830 defensive snaps but recorded just 54 tackles and two sacks over his first two seasons. He's been a healthy scratch in each of the Dallas Cowboys' first two games this year.

The arrival of Kenny Clark via the Micah Parsons trade has essentially made Smith an afterthought. The fact that Dallas has a (mostly) new coaching staff this season does nothing to brighten his future with the franchise.

However, Smith is a 6'3", 337-pound defender, and size can't be coached. He's also just 24 years old and has two years remaining on his rookie contract. Teams looking for a rotational run-stopper or even a project to develop for the future should be willing to take a flier on him.

The Cowboys should be willing to listen to any reasonable offer.

Potential Suitors: Indianapolis Colts, Washington Commanders

6. Xavier Legette, WR, Carolina Panthers

5 of 10

Projected Trade Value: Conditional 2026 3rd-Round Pick

In the 2024 draft, the Carolina Panthers traded into Round 1 to secure South Carolina wide receiver Xavier Legette. 18 games later, the Panthers have got nothing close to a reasonable return on investment.

Legette had his fair share of rookie struggles, but they weren't particularly alarming. Plenty of first-year receivers have experienced growing pains, and Carolina's offense wasn't particularly good for most of the year. However, Legette has looked even worse through the first two weeks of his sophomore campaign.

The 24-year-old has caught just four of 15 targets for eight yards.

With rookie wideout Tetairoa McMillan taking over as Bryce Young's top target, a change of scenery might be best for Legette. It might benefit the 0-2 Panthers too, since it appears their rebuild isn't close to its end.

While Legette's tape isn't great, he's still a physically gifted 6'3", 227-pound pass-catcher who was highly regarded entering the 2024 draft—he was the 71st-ranked prospect on the B/R Scouting Department's final draft board.

Adding Legette would be a risk-reward move that could make a lot of sense for teams with questionable receiver depth. A third-round pick that could become a second based on statistical production would be a fair asking price for Carolina.

Potential Suitors: Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers

5. Kayvon Thibodeaux, Edge, New York Giants

6 of 10
Giants Commanders Football

Projected Trade Value: 2026 2nd-Round Pick

Kayvon Thibodeaux was the fifth overall pick in the 2022 draft and still possesses elite upside. The question is whether he has a future in New York with Brian Burns under contract through 2028 and rookie Abdul Carter on a rookie deal through at least that season.

Thibodeaux is already extension-eligible and is set to play on the fifth-year option in 2026.

The Giants could look to cash in the 24-year-old before the trade deadline if they can't start stringing some wins together. Sunday's overtime loss to Dallas is the sort of game that teases a breakthrough, but if New York doesn't actually get one, big changes could be coming.

Since helping guide the Giants to the playoffs in 2022, head coach Brian Daboll has gone 9-27.

Trading Thibodeaux to a contender this year could give New York the sort of draft capital that would be extremely valuable for a new, rebuilding front office.

Potential Suitors: Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

4. D.J. Wonnum, LB, Carolina Panthers

7 of 10

Panthers LB D.J. Wonnum (98) celebrates an interception against the Cardinals on Sept. 14

Projected Trade Value: 2026 4th-Round pick

Panthers linebacker D.J. Wonnum might not have the upside of Thibodeaux, but he's an extremely productive edge-defender on a team with an equally concerning outlook.

Yes, the Panthers showed life late against the Cardinals on Sunday. However, they had little business climbing back into the game. Wonnum's fourth-quarter interception on the Panthers' 12-yard line gave them the chance to even attempt a comeback.

The reality is that Wonnum is one of the better veterans on a Panthers defense in the midst of a rebuild. The 27-year-old is set to be a free agent in 2026, and the Panthers, if they continue to lose, could be in the market for a new coach and a new quarterback by then.

Even if the Carolina starts to turn things around, moving Wonnum and opening more opportunities for rookies Nic Scourton and Princely Umanmielen could make sense.

Wonnum is an underrated difference-maker who should draw interest from multiple playoff hopefuls. The fifth-round pick and late-round swap the Browns got for Za'Darius Smith at last year's deadline should serve as the floor for his price point.

Potential Suitors: Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots

3. Jaelan Phillips, Edge, Miami Dolphins

Projected Trade Value: Conditional 2026 4th-Round Pick

Things continue to look bleak for the Miami Dolphins in 2025. While Miami wasn't blown out for the second straight week, they can't feel good about a home loss to the rebuilding New England Patriots

More alarming is the fact that Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and the rest of Miami's offense—including head coach/playcaller Mike McDaniel—can't seem to get on the same page.

Miami's defense, which has surrendered 751 yards and 66 points through two weeks, isn't good. If the Dolphins can lead with their offense, they're simply not going to do much winning in 2025.

Impending 2026 free agent Jaelan Phillips is just one of the potential trade chips the Dolphins could look to cash in before the trade deadline. Though injuries have limited the 26-year-old in recent years, Phillips recorded 22 sacks over his first three seasons.

Teams in need of pass-rushing help should be willing to bet on Phillip's ceiling.

Potential Suitors: Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2. Tyreek Hill, WR, Miami Dolphins

9 of 10
Patriots Dolphins Football
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill

Projected Trade Value: Conditional 2026 3rd-Round Pick

Phillips isn't the only player the Dolphins should look to move if the losses mount. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill would be a logical trade chip for a couple of reasons.

For one, Miami could save $36.3 million in cap space by releasing Hill in the offseason. Secondly, the Dolphins could be in the market for a new QB in the 2026 draft if the McDaniel-Tagovailoa pairing continues to flounder.

For receiver-needy teams, the caveat with Hill is the fact that the NFL is investigating him for domestic violence allegations made by Hill's ex-wife, Keeta Vaccaro, as reported by TMZ.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Dolphins hadn't received any calls about Hill's availability as of Saturday. Schefter also reported that Miami has "no plans" to trade the 31-year-old.

Of course, plans change quickly in the NFL. If the Dolphins suffer a lopsided loss against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night, they could become proactive sellers well ahead of the deadline—and if Hill is available at a reasonable price, receiver-needy teams will be interested.

The conditional third-round pick the Las Vegas Raiders received for Davante Adams last season is probably the starting point.

Potential Suitors: Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers

1. David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns

10 of 10
Bengals Browns Football
Browns TE David Njoku

Projected Trade Value: Conditional 2026 3rd-Round Pick

The Browns may be cooked just two weeks into the season. As previously mentioned, Cleveland wasn't expected to contend in 2025, and Sunday's blowout loss confirmed expectations.

One positive surprise for the Browns through Week 2, however, has been the quick ascension of rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. The Bowling Green product has already caught 12 passes for 111 yards and has shown no signs of hitting the rookie wall.

With Fannin looking like a long-term mismatch-creator for Cleveland, the Browns might consider moving starting tight end David Njoku. The 29-year-old is more experienced and more well-rounded than Fannin, of course, but he's also set to be a free agent in 2026.

Njoku would probably bring a premium return for the Browns, which is extremely noteworthy. If Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders doesn't look like a long-term QB solution by the end of this season, the Browns will chase one in the 2026 draft.

While Njoku isn't a perennial Pro Bowler, he's a more proven playmaker than what most other franchises have at tight end. Teams should be willing to part with a Day 2 selection to add him to their receiving corps.

Potential Suitors: Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers
