Warriors' Steph Curry Says Modern NBA 'Is the Most Skilled Era of Basketball'

Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry changed the game with his long-range shooting, and he feels the competition among players is at an all-time high.

During an appearance on TODAY, Curry was asked about his thoughts on his impact in the NBA, and he said he feels the emphasis on three-point shooting helped players achieve new heights in their basketball skills.

"I was told by a wise man when I was getting into the league, you want to leave the league in a better place than when you found it," Curry said. "I think just the way that you see the skill-level right now, the way that the range has kind of taken over, guys shooting threes all over the court, but just from one through five all the way down the roster, I think this is the most skilled era of basketball history."

Curry is entering his 17th year in the NBA and has shown no signs of slowing down. He played in 70 games last season and averaged 24.5 points while shooting 39.7 percent from beyond the arc.

The 37-year-old added that he's happy to play a role in shaping the next era of basketball stars who chose to chase their NBA dreams while using him as their inspiration.

"Whether that was young kids in the game seeing my generation, the way that I play and getting inspired by that, that for me is important and something that I don't take for granted," Curry said.
