Eagles' Jalen Carter Fined for Spitting on Dak Prescott, Won't Be Suspended vs. Chiefs
Defensive tackle Jalen Carter has been fined $57,222 after spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott during the Philadelphia Eagles' season opener last Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The league determined Carter effectively served a one-game suspension given the timing of his ejection. As a result, no further action was needed in that regard.

Schefter provided some contract-related context, too:
The incident in question occurred before the Cowboys' opening drive. Just six seconds into the game, the two teams exchanged some words and Carter spat on Prescott, leading to his ejection and a 15-yard penalty.
Before Carter spat on Prescott, the quarterback was seen spitting in Carter's direction. He explained after the game that he wasn't aiming to spit at Carter.
Carter apologized for spitting on Prescott after the game and said it wouldn't happen again.
"It was a mistake that happened on my side, and it just won't happen again," Carter told reporters. "I feel bad for my teammates and the fans out there. I'm doing it for them. ... Not being able to start the game even, finish the game, it f---ed me up, but we're going to get it better. It won't happen again. I can make that promise."
The incident was clearly a moment of regret for Carter, but he'll look to move past it after facing his punishment.
Carter, the ninth overall pick out of Georgia in 2023, has had a strong start to his career, logging 75 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks across his first two seasons. He was a Pro Bowler and earned a second-team All-Pro nod last season.
