Jets' Alijah Vera-Tucker Reportedly to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery on Triceps Injury
New York Jets offensive guard Alijah Vera-Tucker reportedly will undergo season-ending surgery on his torn triceps, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Earlier Thursday, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported Vera-Tucker would "almost certainly" miss the entire season.
Schefter reported the injury occurred during the team's practice Tuesday and that Vera-Tucker sought a second opinion to determine whether he needed surgery.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The 26-year-old was slated to be New York's starter at right guard.
This is the third time in four seasons that the 2021 first-round pick suffered a serious injury. He was limited to seven appearances in 2022 because of a torn triceps, and then a torn Achilles ended his 2023 campaign after five games.
Vera-Tucker bounced back to stay healthy for the most part in 2024, and he put together a strong year. Pro Football Focus gave him a 77.7 overall grade, which ranked 15th among all guards.
The Jets are now presented a situation in which they'll likely have to move Joe Tippmann or Josh Myers over from center to right guard. At the same time, they're counting on rookie Armand Membou to the starting right tackle. That's a less than ideal setup.
For Vera-Tucker, his potential earning power took a clear hit. A free agent in 2026, his injury couldn't have come at a worse time.
Running back Breece Hall could wind up an indirect loser as well since he's similarly in the last year of his rookie contract. Hall will hope he can put together a strong season despite no longer having his best interior blocker in front of him.
