Rockies Lose 100th Game of 2025 MLB Season, 3rd Straight Year Reaching Mark
The Colorado Rockies reached an unfortunate milestone on Tuesday.
With a 7-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants, Colorado fell to 39-100 on the season and continued to hold the worst record among all MLB teams.
The defeat also marked the third consecutive year that the Rockies have lost at least 100 games. Colorado finished 59-103 in 2023 and 61-101 in 2024.

Tuesday's loss contained some early extracurricular activities, as Rockies starter Kyle Freeland and Giants slugger Rafael Devers got into an argument following a home run by Devers in the first inning that ultimately resulted in the benches clearing.
Colorado trailed 5-1 in the middle of the fifth inning, but scored once in the bottom of the frame and cut the deficit to one run with a two-run homer from Hunter Goodman in the seventh.
San Francisco responded with a two-run blast from Patrick Bailey in the next inning, putting the game out of reach.
The Rockies have put together a tumultuous 2025 season, as manager Bud Black was fired in May with the team opening up the year with a 7-33 record. He was replaced by Warren Schaeffer.
Colorado was never able to turn its season around following the slow start, currently holding the fourth-worst team OPS in MLB at .690 as well as the worst team ERA in the majors at 5.98.
The Rockies never recorded a 100-loss season in their first 30 years of existence, but will now look to avoid doing so for the fourth straight year in 2026.
