Ty Lue Says He 'Can't Say Nothing' About LeBron Working Out at Old Clippers' Facility

Tyronn Lue wasn't about to say anything that would create more headlines about LeBron James working out in the Los Angeles Clippers' old facility earlier this summer.

"I don't even know if I can speak on that," the Clippers head coach said during a conversation with Shannon Sharpe. "I can't say nothing about that."

James is still with the Los Angeles Lakers but turned heads in July when he posted a picture of himself working out with the logo of the city's other team in the background:

However, as Dan Lyons of Sports Illustrated noted, the photographs were taken at Honey Training Center, which used to belong to the Clippers. Yet they now have a new facility, while Klutch Sports Group purchased the Honey Training Center.

It follows, then, that James would have been working out at a building owned by his agency, even if the logos hadn't been fully updated.

It wasn't the only time James made waves this offseason for working out somewhere associated with another team, as he responded to a picture of himself at the Cleveland Cavaliers' facility and explained "I live here still and train every summer."

While the trade speculation has quieted with the 2025-26 season approaching, there was a time this summer when the idea of the Lakers trading James didn't seem that far-fetched. After all, they seem to be transitioning to a time when Luka Dončić will be the face of the franchise, and James' agent, Rich Paul, fanned the flames with comments to ESPN's Shams Charania in June.

"LeBron wants to compete for a championship," Paul said. "He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all.

"... We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what's best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career. He wants to make every season he has left count, and the Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what's best for him."

With those comments as the backdrop, James posting a picture working out in front of another team's logo was always going to generate headlines even if more clarity about the workout center was later provided.

But Lue, who coached James in Cleveland for three seasons, chose not to weigh in from his position.
