Jizzle James, Son of Pro Football HOFer Edgerrin, Dismissed From Cincinnati MCBB Team
The Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball team will need a new point guard for the upcoming season.
Charlie Clifford of WLWT in Cincinnati reported Tuesday the Bearcats dismissed Jizzle James, who is the son of former NFL player Edgerrin James, from the team.
"Jizzle James has been dealing with personal issues throughout the summer," head coach Wes Miller said in a statement. "We removed him from the team last month. He is currently not a member of our basketball program. As this is a personal matter, I will have no further comment at this time."

James arrived at Cincinnati as a 4-star prospect in the class of 2023, per 247Sports' composite rankings.
He appeared in 37 games as a freshman and then started all 35 games of the team's season as a sophomore. He averaged 12.7 points, 3.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 40 percent from the field and 28.2 percent from deep last season.
The Bearcats did not make the NCAA men's tournament in either of his two seasons and have not participated in the Big Dance since the 2018-19 campaign.
Keegan Knickoson of 247Sports noted James stayed with Cincinnati following his freshman campaign "despite heavy interest from other schools around the country."
However, Knickoson also pointed out James "posted screenshots of a conversation with his agent, Noah Eisenberg, … seemingly relaying he no longer wanted to play for the Bearcats. James also posted screenshots of an argument with a teammate."
The point guard's father played for the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks in the NFL from 1999 through 2009. The Hall of Famer amassed a resume that included the Offensive Rookie of the Year, four Pro Bowl selections and seven seasons with more than 1,000 rushing yards.
James led the NFL in rushing yards in each of his first two seasons.
