Bobby Portis Dismisses Giannis NBA Trade Rumors, Bucks Star 'Bleeds Green'

Andrew PetersAug 12, 2025

Bobby Portis is confident that his Milwaukee Bucks star teammate isn't going anywhere this offseason.

Portis told ESPN Milwaukee that he doesn't envision Giannis Antetokounmpo asking for a trade amid speculation about his future with the team.

"I think Giannis bleeds green, that's all I can say," Portis said (4:15 mark).

Early this offseason, Antetokounmpo leaving the Bucks seemed like a realistic possibility. ESPN's Shams Charania reported in May that the star had "not made any firm decisions on his Bucks future" but "is open-minded about exploring whether his best long-term fit is remaining in Milwaukee or playing elsewhere."

The first few weeks of the offseason were full of speculation about whether Antetokounmpo would request a trade, but he hasn't officially done so yet.

Antetokounmpo gave fans a good indication that he planned to stay with the Bucks last month during a live stream with IShowSpeed.

"Probably. Probably, we'll see. Probably, I love Milwaukee," Antetokounmpo said when asked if he would play in Milwaukee this season.

Of course, there's still plenty of time for Antetokounmpo to ask out since the season is more than two months away, but trade talks have quieted down significantly in recent weeks.
