Celtics' Jayson Tatum Attends Patriots Camp Without Boot Amid Achilles Injury Rehab
Nearly three months removed from a devastating torn Achilles injury, Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum is looking more comfortable using his legs.
Tatum was in attendance at the New England Patriots camp on Wednesday and was walking on the field without a boot.
Tatum, who suffered a torn Achilles in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks on May 13, is seemingly making good progress in his recovery.
Last week, Heavy Sports' Steve Bulpett reported that one scout said Tatum looks "way ahead" in his recovery and was "shocked to see how well he was moving."
Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens commended the progress Tatum had made in June, about a month and a half after his surgery.
"He's actually progressed great, but I don't know what that means in regard to projected timelines," Stevens said. "But that will be in consultation with him … and everybody else to make sure when he hits the court, he is fully ready, and fully healthy. And that will be the priority."
Tatum is coming off another fantastic season, putting up 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. Unfortunately, he still has a long recovery ahead of him, but it appears he's done well in speeding up that process.
