Bulls Announce Return of Black Pinstripe Uniforms in Photos, Dennis Rodman Video

The Chicago Bulls haven't won a playoff series since the 2014-15 season without much realistic hope of turning that around in 2025-26, but the fans can at least take solace knowing the team is bringing back a classic look.

Chicago announced Tuesday it is bringing back its black jerseys with red pinstripes for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign.

And it did so with the help of a franchise legend in Dennis Rodman:

The team provided a closer look at some of the details:

If nothing else, bringing back the pinstripes will give the fans an opportunity to relive some of the franchise's glory days. After all, the teams in the 1990s that featured Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Rodman frequently went with this look.

And those teams were some of the greatest in NBA history.

Jordan and Pippen won six championships together across two different threepeats, while Rodman was a key figure in the second one as a defensive force who controlled the glass. Rodman also had quite the fashion sense, which he explained as part of Tuesday's announcement:

Unfortunately for the Bulls, the glory days of Jordan, Pippen and Rodman winning championships are long in the past at this point.

Instead, they have toiled in mediocrity in recent years with losses in the play-in tournament in each of the last three seasons. This offseason also hasn't helped inspire much confidence, as it has largely been defined by stalled contract discussions with Josh Giddey.

Assuming Chicago can eventually come to terms on a deal with Giddey, there are some building blocks in place with the guard, Coby White and Matas Buzelis. That isn't good enough to compete with the best teams in the Eastern Conference, but the Bulls fanbase is surely looking for some optimism wherever it can find it.

And the team will at least look good this season when it plays with the old pinstripe jerseys that were a featured part of previous championship runs.
