Knicks' Mikal Bridges Says 'I Love It Here' in IG Photo After New $150M Contract

Mikal Bridges seems happy to be sticking around in Manhattan after signing a four-year, $150 million extension with the New York Knicks.

Bridges shared an Instagram post on Sunday featuring three photos of himself playing at Madison Square Garden with the caption, "I love it here."

Bridges, acquired by the Knicks in a trade that sent five first-round picks to the Brooklyn Nets last summer, averaged 17.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists while playing in all 82 games during his first season in Manhattan.

He then contributed 15.6 points per playoff game to help the Knicks reach the conference finals for the first time in 25 years.

Bridges struggled from behind the arc— he shot 35.4 percent from deep, his lowest mark since his rookie 2018-19 season— and he wasn't able to add enough to take the Knicks' roster to the NBA Finals. His extension could still be seen as a vote of confidence from the franchise that he will be part of a championship roster in the near future.

Bridges' new deal includes a player option for 2029-30 as well as a trade kicker, agents Sam Goldfeder and Jordan Gertler told ESPN's Shams Charania.

The $150 million deal came just $6 million shy of the maximum extension Bridges could have received, per Charania.

The Knicks now have Bridges as well as Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and Miles McBride signed for at least two more seasons, per Spotrac.

Mitchell Robinson is the only core Knicks player currently set to enter the 2025-26 season on an expiring deal, according to Spotrac. He congratulated Bridges by sharing some of the Knicks wing's highlights on a Sunday Instagram story.
