Padres' Updated Roster, World Series Odds After Mason Miller, O'Hearn, Laureano Trades
In an effort to keep their postseason hopes alive, the San Diego Padres made a handful of moves ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.
The Padres landed first baseman Ryan O'Hearn and outfielder Ramon Laureano from the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday before trading for closer Mason Miller and starting pitcher JP Sears from the Athletics. San Diego also brought in catcher Freddy Fermin from the Kansas City Royals.
After bringing in some talent before the trade deadline, the Padres now have the 11th best odds to win the World Series at +2000.

The Padres are in prime position to have a late-season surge and perhaps even a deep playoff run after a busy trade deadline. San Diego holds the third wild card seed, but is just three games back from the Los Angeles Dodgers, who sit atop the NL West.
Of course, a competitive National League means San Diego can't afford any hiccups, but it's hard to imagine that will happen after bolstering the roster on Thursday.
