The efforts of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean didn't go unnoticed by their NFL peers.

Stafford fell 17 spots but still occupied a place (No. 59) among the top 100 players heading into the 2025 season. On the heels of his rookie year, DeJean debuted at No. 60.

DeJean finished fourth in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting despite starting in only nine of his 16 appearances.

Through four games, he had logged a total of just eight snaps on defense. Once the second-round pick was put into the first team for a Week 5 matchup with the Cleveland Browns, he didn't look back.

DeJean recorded 51 total tackles, six pass breakups, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries. According to Pro Football Reference, he allowed just 5.5 yards per passing target and an 80.1 quarterback rating.

The former Iowa standout also made his presence felt on special teams. He totaled 211 yards on his 21 punt returns.

Anybody who watched DeJean in college could attest to his value and versatility on the field, and that was fully on display in 2024. His biggest highlight was a pick-six in Philadelphia's Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles boast not just DeJean in their secondary but also Defensive ROY runner-up Quinyon Mitchell. That pair figures to make Philly a formidable unit against the pass for years to come.

Stafford's drop points to how the 37-year-old is no longer at his peak yet nonetheless continues to be effective under center deep into his career.

The two-time Pro Bowler threw for 3,762 yards, 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 16 starts. His interception rate (1.5 percent) was his second-lowest ever, per Pro Football Reference, and he was 12th in ESPN.com's QBR (64.7).

Stafford played well in the playoffs, too, finishing with 533 yards and four touchdowns to zero interceptions across two contests.

Look no further than the fact Stafford was sixth in the annual QB rankings from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, who bases his list on the input of executives, coaches and scouts from around the NFL.

One coordinator told Fowler the veteran signal-caller deserved to be ranked so high "cause he's tough as s--t."

"Elite poise and toughness in the pocket," the coach said. "The ability to throw with timing and location while he's about to get hit in the chin is among the best."

Assuming he stays healthy, Stafford is a good bet to retain a Top 100 position next year.
