Nolan Arenado Reportedly Could Be Traded by Cardinals Amid Eugenio Suarez Rumors
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado reportedly might experience a change of scenery ahead of the trade deadline.
According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, Arenado "could be moved" by the Cardinals after he was "at the center of multiple trade talks during the offseason."
Per Feinsand, teams pursuing Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suárez may "pivot" to Arenado if they're unable to acquire Suárez.

On July 20, USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported that Arenado was expected to remain in St. Louis beyond the deadline with "no teams" showing interest in him after he previously rejected trades to the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels.
If Suárez is moved, it could cause a bidding war for Arenado and increase the likelihood of him getting dealt.
Feinsand reported Sunday that the Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies were among the team's vying for Suárez's services.
They could end up pursuing Arenado instead, even if he hasn't been able to exceed expectations in 2025. He's hitting .237 with 10 home runs, 15 doubles and 43 RBI.
Arenado's .669 OPS is a career-low mark, and he's particularly struggled as of late, owning a .174/.240/.217 slash line in the month of July.
Still, front offices could convince themselves that the eight-time All-Star will be able to look like his former self on a new team. After all, Arenado owned a .797 OPS throughout his first four seasons in St. Louis.
The 34-year-old has two years remaining on his contract beyond the 2025 season, as he's set to receive $16 million in 2026 and $15 million in 2027.
The 2025 MLB trade deadline is on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET.
