Giants Insider Says Jameis Winston Would Only Be Traded for 'Godfather Offer'
If a team is interested in Jameis Winston, they'll reportedly have to give the New York Giants a sizable haul.
Per NorthJersey.com's Art Stapleton, the Giants won't trade Winston "unless someone makes them a Godfather offer." According to Stapleton, New York likes Winston's "presence in the room" and expects him to be Jaxson Dart's backup next year.
The Giants signed Winston to an affordable two-year, $8 million deal in March and later signed Russell Wilson before drafting Dart. New York has a surplus of quarterbacks on its roster, but it seemingly isn't willing to part with any of them.

NFL draft trade ideas for every pick
Head coach Brian Daboll named Wilson the starter earlier this week, but noted that Winston and Dart are still "competing."
Winston, who began his career as a starter for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has spent the past five seasons mostly as a backup quarterback. He took on a bigger role with the Cleveland Browns a season ago, throwing for 2,121 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 12 games.
Winston has a high ceiling as a quarterback capable of putting up big numbers—he threw for 497 yards and four touchdowns in a game last year—but his mistakes tend to pile up—he also had three interceptions in that game.
Considering his inexpensive contract, it seems worth it for the Giants to keep him around as both a veteran leader and a reliable backup. He also might hear his number called should Wilson get injured.
Wilson is also playing the 2025 season on a one-year contract, so the Giants' need for Winston will increase tremendously in 2026.
