Tyrese Haliburton Talks Myles Turner's Decision to Leave Pacers, Sign Bucks Contract

Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton gave his thoughts on center Myles Turner's decision to leave the team for the Milwaukee Bucks in free agency this offseason during a Tuesday interview on the Pat McAfee Show.

"Yeah, I mean, obviously since I've gotten here and just for the last, whatever, 10 years, Myles' name has been synonymous with our organization, and he's done a lot here, and I think that people have really taken a liking to Myles, and he's done some great things, been a part of some great groups.

"But I think at the end of the day, it is a business. He's got to do what's best for him and wish him the best moving forward. I mean, my focus is now on the guys that we have here and getting better here, but, yeah, I wish him the best moving forward."

Turner signed a four-year, $107 million deal with Milwaukee this offseason, ending a decade with the Pacers. The 29-year-old big man just averaged 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game for a Pacers team that was one win away from winning the franchise's first-ever NBA title.

So seeing Turner leave town, let alone to a rival, is a tough blow. Indiana also goes into next year with Haliburton, who will be out for the season with a torn Achilles suffered in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

The Pacers certainly retain plenty of talent from last year's squad, though, including Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhard and Aaron Nesmith, alongside a great bench led by T.J. McConnell and Obi Toppin.

That's the core tasked with returning the Pacers to the playoffs, certainly a manageable feat if not more in an Eastern Conference that looks wide open.
