Bradley Beal's Clippers Contract Reportedly Includes 15% Trade Kicker
Bradley Beal's contract with the Los Angeles Clippers reportedly includes a 15 percent trade kicker in addition to a player option for the 2026-27 season, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.
A trade kicker is a bonus—up to 15 percent of a player's remaining contract—triggered if that player is traded. It's typically paid by the team sending the player out, not the one acquiring him.
Beal signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the Clippers last week after reaching a buyout with the Phoenix Suns, per ESPN's Shams Charania, ending his two-year stint in Arizona. He still has $110 million remaining on his previous contract, including a $57.1 million player option—now sweetened by the trade kicker.
The 11-year veteran has only been traded once in his career, moving from the Washington Wizards to the Suns ahead of the 2023 season. Beal spent over a decade in D.C. after being selected No. 3 overall by the Wizards in the 2012 NBA Draft.
