Hot Takes on Lakers' RJ Davis, Cole Swider vs. Nuggets
The Los Angeles Lakers finished up their NBA Summer League slate on Friday with a 106-84 loss to the Denver Nuggets in which Bronny James and Dalton Knecht both sat out.
RJ Davis and Cole Swider each turned in 17-point performances in their final auditions in front of the coaching staff prior to training camp.
Swider added six rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block to his 17-point showing. He did most of his scoring damage in the first quarter.
Davis scored his 17 points in 25 minutes off the bench.
Davis knocked down three three-point shots and added three assists in the losing effort.
Ethan Taylor and Sir'Jabari Rice also reached double figures off the Lakers bench, but they were unable to keep up with Denver without the two most notable names on their Summer League roster.
