Josh Hart Calls Damian Lillard's Bucks Exit 'Outrageous' With $103M Left on Contract
New York Knicks guard Josh Hart disclosed his reaction to the Milwaukee Bucks waiving and extending the contract of star point guard Damian Lillard.
Hart revealed that he called Lillard's departure from the Bucks "outrageous" when it happened in Thursday's episode of the Roommates Show podcast (10:40 mark).
"This is Dame," he added. "This is Damian Lillard, and it's just the stuff that's going on now is crazy."
On July 1, the Bucks waived Lillard and stretched the remaining $103 million left on his contract in order to sign center Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million deal in free agency.
The veteran guard is expected to miss most of the 2025-26 season after suffering a torn Achilles in Game 4 of Milwaukee's first-round playoff exit at the hands of the Indiana Pacers.
Hart has some familiarity with Lillard, as they were teammates on the Portland Trail Blazers from the end of the 2021-22 season through the beginning of the 2022-23 season.
Lillard is still a free agent, although he's reportedly received interest from the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors.
