A GoFundMe page, which raised over $88,000 for Braman's medical expenses, stated that the former NFL player underwent multiple surgeries while receiving treatment in Seattle.
After playing collegiately at Idaho, Long Beach City College and West Texas A&M, Braman was not selected in the 2011 NFL draft.
However, he signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent and made the team as a special teamer and backup linebacker, which were roles he would play throughout his career.
Braman spent three seasons in Houston and another four seasons with the Eagles, appearing in 97 regular-season games and recording 56 tackles, two fumble recoveries and 1.5 sacks.
In 2017, which proved to be his final NFL campaign, Braman spent time on injured reserve with the New Orleans Saints before getting released and re-signing with the Eagles.
He appeared in all three of the Eagles' playoff games that season, including their Super Bowl LII win over the New England Patriots.
Stellato noted that Braman leaves behind two daughters, aged 11 and 8.
