
Hot Takes on Hornets' Kon Knueppel, DJ Rodman vs. Mavs Without Cooper Flagg
Kon Knueppel led the Charlotte Hornets to a blowout win over the Dallas Mavericks at the NBA Summer League on Monday night.
The Duke product had 16-point, 10-rebound double-double in the contest that did not feature No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg.
Dallas only managed 69 points and only one Mavericks player reached double figures.
Knueppel turned in a complete game in the blowout victory. He added four assists, a steal, a block and a trio of three-pointers to his double-double.
DJ Rodman, the son of Dennis Rodman, came off the bench to contribute six points and six rebounds.
KJ Simpson was Charlotte's leading scorer with 18 points.
Ryan Nembhard was the only Dallas player in double figures with 11 points. He will be the focal point of the Mavs' Summer League team with Cooper Flagg shut down.
Knueppel and the Hornets are back in action on Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs. The Mavs are next up on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
