Giannis, Bucks Are In 'Good Place' Amid NBA Trade Rumors, Team President Says

Andrew PetersJul 13, 2025

As the Milwaukee Bucks await the decision of Giannis Antetokounmpo on whether he'll stay or request a trade this offseason, team president Peter Feigin gave a positive indication that Antetokounmpo isn't going anywhere.

"We kind of laugh internally, it's where we've been for 10 years," Feigin said on NBA TV. "Giannis loves Milwaukee, Milwaukee loves Giannis. We're in a good place. We feel great about it. It's business as usual... We're looking forward to next season."

Antetokounmpo's possible trade request has been one of the biggest storylines of the offseason so far, but as the summer has carried on, more and more signs have pointed to him staying in Milwaukee.

ESPN's Shams Charania reported in May that Antetokounmpo had "not made any firm decisions on his Bucks future" but "is open-minded about exploring whether his best long-term fit is remaining in Milwaukee or playing elsewhere."

But less than a month later, ESPN's Brian Windhorst said that teams had "come to terms" with the fact that Antetokounmpo wasn't going to ask for a trade and the Bucks weren't interested in moving him.

Still, ensuring their star's happiness has been a priority for Milwaukee this offseason, as ESPN's Bobby Marks reported last month that the team was "aggressively exploring options in free agency and trades to complement Antetokounmpo."

The biggest move so far has been the addition of former Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner.

Perhaps the best indication of what Antetokounmpo is thinking came from the man himself. When asked if he was going to stay with the Bucks during a live stream with IShowSpeed, Antetokounmpo was candid with his answer.

"Probably. Probably, we'll see. Probably, I love Milwaukee," Antetokounmpo said.

Antetokounmpo, who the Bucks drafted in 2013, has been in Milwaukee his entire career, winning a pair of MVPs and two championships during his time. While he could likely find more success on another squad, it wouldn't be surprising to see him choose loyalty over an easier path to a championship.
