LeBron's Advice to Bronny James Courtside at Lakers' NBA Summer League Game Revealed
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James provided some pointers to son Bronny from his courtside courtside seat for the team's 94-81 win over the New Orleans Pelicans in the Las Vegas Summer League.
The Los Angeles Times' Broderick Turner reported that LeBron told Bronny to "get downhill more" midway through the third quarter. The young guard might've heard his dad because he subsequently scored on a layup.
Into the fourth quarter, LeBron also offered some advice to Bronny following a turnover. He told his son to "pull up" rather than pass when he was driving to his right.
With Los Angeles holding onto a 65-62 lead in the final frame, Bronny hit a three from the corner. Some encouragement from his dad to "knock it down!" might've helped.
Altogether, James had 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting in just over 24 minutes on the floor. He added one rebound, three assists, two steals and one block.
Summer league is often a great showcase for second-year players because they have an experience edge on some of the competition.
When it comes Bronny, fans and talent evaluators will likely be paying close attention to see how he has evolved from his rookie season. The early signs are promising.
