Queen produced a double-double in defeat for the Pelicans with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
However, it took the No. 13 overall pick some time to work himself into the game.
Queen improved in the second half. He added three assists and a three-pointer to his individual box score.
Beringer, the No. 17 overall pick, didn't waste any time showing off his skills in a Minnesota Timberwolves jersey.
Beringer had the most complete box score in the game with 11 points, eight rebounds, seven blocks, two steals and an assist.
Queen, Fears and the Pelicans play next on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Lakers, while Beringer and the Wolves take on the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
