Lance Stephenson Talks Being LeBron's Teammate on Lakers and Viral Ear-Blowing Video
Throughout his NBA career, Lance Stephenson employed various unusual tactics to throw his opponents off their game, but one moment stands out above the rest.
During Game 5 of the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals between Stephenson's Indiana Pacers and the Miami Heat, Stephenson blew in LeBron James' ear, creating a meme for years to come.
In an interview with CBS Sports' Ashley Nicole Moss, Stephenson broke down his thinking behind blowing in James' ear.
"LeBron is like 6'9", 6'10", strong, athletic," Stephenson said. "I was just trying a lot of things to get him not focused so we could win the game and it worked, cause we won the game. But I was just trying to frustrate him, trying to get that win. I'll do whatever it takes to win."
A few years later in 2018, Stephenson and James became teammates with the Los Angeles Lakers. The infamous moment between Stephenson and James from 2014 was never addressed.
"It was crazy because no one ever brought it up," he said. "We never even talked about it. Like I was waiting for someone to bring it up and nobody did. We just stuck to winning games and focused on getting to know each other."
Stephenson's time in the NBA came to an end a few years ago, and he's now playing in the BIG3, but his hilarious defensive tactic against James will always be remembered.
