Bradley Beal Reportedly to Impact Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Brogdon Landing Spots
As Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal appears to be on the verge of free agency through a contract buyout, it sounds like his next destination will influence the future of other veteran players.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, free-agent guards Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook and Malcolm Brogdon "are likely to be impacted by where Beal lands."
NBA insider Marc Stein reported on Sunday that Beal is "actively exploring his options with other teams in anticipation of a Suns buyout." He added that the 32-year-old is expected to garner "considerable interest" when he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
Paul revealed on Sunday at the American Black Film Festival that the 2025-26 season could be the last year of his legendary career, so it can be expected that he will look to land with a title contender.
"At the most, a year," Paul said when asked how much longer he intends to play. "I just finished my 20th season, which is a blessing in itself. I've been in the NBA for more than half of my life, which is a blessing. But these years you do not get back with your kids, with your family."
Stein and Fischer reported earlier this offseason that Westbrook and Brogdon were believed to be on the Sacramento Kings' radar. Westbrook had also been linked to the New York Knicks before they added former Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson.
Beal should be motivated to bounce back from a disappointing tenure in Phoenix, so there will be a lot of anticipation for where he ends up. His decision will have a domino effect on the rest of the veteran guards on the open market, so fans will enjoy watching how things play out.
