Kings Reportedly 'Strongest Pursuer' of Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga in NBA Free Agency
The Sacramento Kings have emerged as the "strongest pursuer" of Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, but no deal appears imminent, according to The Athleticโs Anthony Slater.
โRestricted free agency around the NBA remains ice cold,โ Slater reported. โConversations and little action.โ
Slater previously reported that the Golden State Warriors are looking for a "promising young player plus a first-round pick in return for Kuminga" should a sign-and-trade scenario arise.
The Warriors extended a $7.9 million qualifying offer to the 22-year-old, retaining their right to match any offer sheet he signs in restricted free agency.
According to Slater, the Kings โfloatedโ an offer to the Warriors that included point guard Devin Carter, forward Dario ล ariฤ, and two second-round picks. League sources say the Warriors viewed it as a โbuy-low attemptโ and werenโt interested in moving forward with the deal.
In addition to the Kings, the Heat, Bulls, Bucks, and Nets have all reportedly showed interest in Kuminga, according to Slater.
