Victor Wembanyama Towers Over Clubgoers During Vacation in Tokyo on Video
When you're 7'3", it's pretty much impossible to be inconspicuous.
TMZ Sports shared a video of Wembanyama at a club in Tokyo. He's pretty easy to spot because he's standing head and shoulders above the other patrons.
The outlet said the 2023-24 Rookie of the Year "was super friendly and welcoming to all the ladies and men around him." He stayed at the club for around 90 minutes before exiting.
The vibes couldn't have been much different from an earlier stop on Wembanyama's offseason vacation. In June, he spent 10 days at a Shaolin temple in Zhengzhou, China, where it was similarly easy to pick him out despite a hairstyle change.
According to Mike Finger of the San Antonio Express-News, the Spurs are expecting to have Wembanyama back stateside Sunday following his summer travels.
The 21-year-old has been out of action since February after being diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis, but Finger noted this was the first full offseason he has gotten to enjoy since making the jump to the NBA.
The French league didn't wrap up its 2022-23 season until mid-June, much later than rookies are typically competing before they join their NBA team. Last summer, Wembanyama represented host country France in the 2024 Summer Olympics.
The young star has made the most of his opportunity to spend a few months away from basketball.
