The San Antonio Spurs signed guard Dylan Harper to a rookie-scale contract, the team announced Thursday.

The final two years of the contract also contain team options (h/t Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News).
The Spurs selected the former Rutgers standout with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft.
Harper was impressive during his lone season with the Scarlet Knights, earning All-Big Ten honors while averaging 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game in 29 appearances.
The 19-year-old also shot 48.4 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from three-point territory and 75.0 percent on free throws.
Harper won't suit up in the summer league right away, with the Spurs announcing that he's dealing with a "minor" groin issue that will keep him out of the California Classic that starts on Saturday.
There's hope that he can participate in Las Vegas Summer League instead, which is set to open on July 10.
Once the regular season rolls around, Harper will be forming one of the NBA's most intriguing young cores alongside 2024 Rookie of the Year winner Victor Wembanyama and 2025 Rookie of the Year winner Stephon Castle in San Antonio.
The Spurs are also looking to be competitive in the Western Conference next season with speedy point guard De'Aaron Fox and a veteran supporting cast that includes Harrison Barnes and Luke Kornet.
As Harper prepares for his rookie season, he's now officially under contract with San Antonio.
