Kevin Durant Hypes Commanders' Jayden Daniels, 'Big Season Ahead'
Kevin Durant took to social media to hype up his hometown NFL team, the Washington Commanders, and their second-year quarterback, Jayden Daniels.
“Yessir big season ahead,” Durant wrote, showing support for the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner and the Commanders' upcoming campaign.
Durant responded to a post quoting New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, who refused to criticize Durant’s loyalty to the Commanders—noting that his “best friend,” Daniels, is Washington’s quarterback. The two played alongside one another at LSU in 2022 and 20223.
A Washington, D.C., native and lifelong Commanders fan, Durant has been riding high on the hype train all offseason. It started at Fanatics Fest, where he tried recruiting Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons to join the Commanders—and he hasn’t slowed down since.
"I think he (Micah Parsons) will be a Commander at some point in his career," Durant told Kay Adams. "I would say two years from now."
Fittingly, the Washington Commanders will open their season at home against the New York Giants on Sept. 7.
