Knicks Reportedly Eye Jordan Clarkson as a 'Priority Signing' After Jazz Buyout
Following his buyout with the Utah Jazz, the New York Knicks are reportedly eyeing 33-year-old Jordan Clarkson as a "priority signing" once he clears waivers, according to SNYTV's Ian Begley.
New York has two options for Clark in the $5 million taxpayer mid-level exception and a veteran’s minimum execution contract.
"Not hearing it's done but sounds like Knicks have set their sights on Jordan Clarkson once he clears waivers -- an unexpected find for them at a low cost after he was bought out by Jazz earlier in the day," Steve Popper of Newsday reported.
Clarkson became an unrestricted free agent following his buyout with the Utah Jazz and has already drawn interest from multiple playoff-caliber teams. He averaged 16.2 points and 3.7 assists off the bench last season for Utah.
As the last remaining piece of the Jazz’s previous core that reached the playoffs in 2022, Clarkson had been the subject of trade rumors for years, but a deal never materialized.
Now, the former Sixth Man of the Year is seeking a fresh start with a contender — and with mutual interest already brewing, the New York Knicks could be an ideal landing spot.
