Julian Reese, the brother of WNBA star Angel Reese, signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Los Angeles Lakers for NBA Summer League.

The former Maryland big man recorded over 1,000 career points and rebounds, finishing top 10 in program history in total rebounds, field goal percentage and blocks.

Julian Reese went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft despite a standout career with the Maryland Terrapins. He finished his senior season averaging 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.5 blocks while shooting 55.5 percent from the field.

The 6-foot-9 big man did not attempt a single three-pointer over his final three seasons at Maryland, raising concerns among teams about his offensive versatility.

During the Portsmouth Invitational in April, a showcase for college prospects aiming to boost their draft stock, Julian turned heads by averaging 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.

With the Lakers lacking depth at center and size overall, Julian's strong performance at summer league could earn him an invitation to training camp.
