2025 NBA Draft Scouting Report for Golden State Warriors No. 56 Pick Will Richard
The Golden State Warriors have selected Will Richard with the No. 56 pick in the 2025 NBA draft. The Warriors traded up from No. 59 to select the Florida Gator wing.
A four-year player for the 2025 national champions, Richard was a steady source of scoring, outside shooting and solid rebounding for a guard throughout his career.
Though he's a bit undersized for an NBA guard, he has a wing's wingspan, which should help him survive at the next level.

Realistic Pro Comparison: Courtney Lee

Not many undersized, non-playmaking 2-guards last in the NBA. But Richard could emulate Courtney Lee, an efficient scorer and off-ball shooter.
Zeroing in on those things first will be key. If he gets good enough at that to stick around, he can then work to expand his game out.
Ricahrd averaged only 1.5 assists over his four years at Florida, but that doesn't mean he can't pick up some passing ability as he develops.
Strengths
2 of 3
Length: Richard's 6'10" wingspan is unique for a player of his height. It should go a long way toward keeping him in the league.
Shotmaking: Richard never ascended to the role of a volume scorer for the Gators, but he still showed off a decent ability to hit difficult jumpers over his four years in college.
Finishing: That wasn't his only source of offense, though. Richard is also good at finishing around the rim, at least relative to others his size.
Weaknesses
3 of 3
Positional Size: Wingspan doesn't completely eliminate the need for height, though. As a wing, Richard is going to be smaller than most of his matchups in the NBA.
Creation: Again, surviving in the NBA may require Richard to figure out how to find and deliver the ball more effectively to teammates. In college, he rarely did so.
