Collin Murray-Boyles Explains Viral Video of Reaction to Raptors Drafting Him at No. 9
At first glance, South Carolina forward Collin Murray-Boyles didn't appear thrilled after the Toronto Raptors selected him with the ninth overall pick in the NBA draft.
Afterward, Taylor Rooks gave Murray-Boyles a shot "to explain his reaction in the moment," in an interview that aired on NBATV.

"WTF for sure," Murray-Boyles began. "WTF all the way 'til my name got called. Man, it was crazy, but geez, I almost shed a tear, but I try to keep my composure, but you know, it's surreal, like I dreamed of this when I was a kid, like you never know you're gonna be there until you're there for real, so it's like, crazy."
Rooks then asked if he had his passport ready, and Murray-Boyles said he has it in his bookbag.
Murray-Boyles ranked eighth on the final Bleacher Report big board from Jonathan Wasserman, who offered a pro comparison to Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle.
"Overall, Murray-Boyles should provide a unique punch of offense and physicality with his low-post effectiveness, driving, rebounding and playmaking flashes," Wasserman wrote.
Murray-Boyles gives the Raptors depth at power forward, where Scottie Barnes starts. Toronto did need some more frontcourt help behind him, though, and Murray-Boyles certainly helps in that regard as Toronto looks to make the playoffs for the first time since 2022.
