Fred VanVleet Celebrates $50M Rockets Contract With Chris Tucker, 'Rush Hour' Video
Fred VanVleet signed a two-year, $50 million extension with the Houston Rockets on Tuesday after the team declined his $44.9 million team option for the 2025-26 season.
One day later, VanVleet celebrated his new deal in the most hilarious way possible, busting out a clip from Rush Hour in a social media post:
It's already been a busy summer for the Rockets, who traded for Kevin Durant and re-upped FVV. Those two, paired with Alperen Şengün, Amen Thompson and plenty of young depth behind them, have given the Rockets the look of a potential contender.
Trying to catch the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder will be no easy task, of course, and the Western Conference is trending toward being pretty loaded in general. But the Rockets, fresh off of being the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs this past season, are most certainly in the mix.
