2025 NBA Draft Betting Odds for Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper, Ace Bailey, Top Picks
We have stunning, breaking news to relay—Cooper Flagg is the betting favorite to be the top overall pick on Wednesday night at the NBA draft.
OK, OK, so it won't surprise anyone that Flagg (-100000) is the overwhelming favorite to hear his name called No. 1 overall, per FanDuel. But who are the favorites for the next four selections?
As of Tuesday evening, Dylan Harper (-9000) is the favorite to be the No. 2 selection, followed by VJ Edgecombe (+2500) and Ace Bailey (+3000).
Edgecombe (-320) is the favorite at No. 3, followed by Tre Johnson (+500), Bailey (+550) and Kon Knueppel (+600).
At No. 4, Knueppel tops the odds (+185), followed by Bailey (+330), Edgecombe (+400) and Johnson (+600).
And rounding out the top five, Johnson (+185) is the narrow favorite over Jeremiah Fears (+230), Bailey (+240) and Knueppel (+450).
The fact that Edgecombe has moved to the odds-on favorite to be the pick at No. 3—and Bailey isn't favored to be a top-five selection—could have to do with some of the reporting swirling around before Wednesday's first round:
It's important to note that if the Washington Wizards really love Bailey, they could try to trade up the board to get him. But the fact that Bailey hasn't worked out for any teams could be an indication that he's been trying to orchestrate a move to Washington, and other teams may not be inclined to take a chance on him after not getting a chance to work him out in person.
Bailey is a bit of a polarizing prospect anyway, given his poor shot selection, lack of explosive athleticism and the fact that he wasn't quite as big as previously thought. But his shooting and the belief that he can at least be a decent defender at the NBA level, at worst, give him a pretty solid floor. And his ceiling is truly tantalizing, given his ability on the offensive end.
Beyond that, it's pretty clear that oddsmakers believe a top-six of Flagg, Harper, Edgecombe, Knueppel, Johnson and Bailey is likely, though it may not be in that order. Fears seems like the only player who might potentially disrupt that group, though the NBA draft is rarely devoid of surprises.
