Love Will Play vs. Raptors

Friday, Oct. 16

Love will make his return against Toronto on Sunday, according to Chris Haynes of Northeast Ohio Media Group.

Latest on Love's Practice Status

Wednesday, Oct. 7

Cavaliers head coach David Blatt announced that Love would return to practice on Oct. 10, per Chris Haynes of the Northeast Ohio Media Group.

"He's coming along real nice," Blatt added.

Haynes reported on Sept. 21 that Love would be limited at camp. On Aug. 11, Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reported that Love expected to return to the court but was unsure when he'd be ready to face full contact in training camp.

Love Comments on Recovery

Saturday, Sept. 12

“I feel great," Love said while appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, courtesy of CBS Sports' Ananth Pandian. "I actually spent three weeks in Park City, Utah, at the Olympic training facility there, rehabbed my shoulder, got in great shape and now I feel great. I'm probably about a month, month-and-a-half away, I don't want to set an immediate deadline now but I really feel great.”

Love to Assume More Prominent Role with Cavs After Recovery

Love, 26, will undoubtedly look to get back on the floor as soon as possible, following a somewhat surprising decision to tether his remaining prime to the Cavaliers. The three-time All-Star averaged 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game last season, which are marked deviations from his final years in Minnesota, as the Cavaliers struggled to find him a proper role.

Following candid conversations with Cavaliers management and LeBron James, Griffin said Love should get more of a featured role in 2015-16:

"

So I think we have the ability to put him at the elbow and run offense through him more than we did and do some of the things he did very well in Minnesota. And coach, and Ty Lue and those guys have already been looking at the things he did do well there and will focus on a lot of that because it does, it takes a big part of the burden off of LeBron and off of Kyrie and obviously as we head towards the end of the season, that's important.

"

Of course, a big part of that plan will be getting Love on the floor and installing those sets in training camp. His health is obviously paramount to that plan.
