Obi Toppin, Mathurin Among Pacers Players Reportedly Expected to Draw Trade Interest
Indiana Pacers' Obi Toppin, Bennedict Mathurin and Jarace Walker are expected to draw trade interest this offseason, after being on the radar of several teams during the regular season, per HoopsHype's Michael Scotto.
Following the Pacers’ Game 7 NBA Finals loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night, trade conversations surrounding Indiana’s supporting cast are already underway.
Toppin, a fifth-year forward, is expected to be a popular trade target after averaging 10.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists last season—despite a slight dip in production during the postseason.
Mathurin, the former No. 6 overall pick, had a breakout season, averaging 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 45.8 percent from the field. Meanwhile, Walker—a 6-foot-7 forward—nearly doubled his production in his second year, posting 6.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
After falling just short of the NBA title last season, the Pacers are expected to make some moves this offseason in search of the missing piece for a championship run.
