Wemby Says He Keeps Note With Questions to Ask LeBron, Durant, Jokic, More NBA Stars
Victor Wembanyama is not taking any advice he receives for granted.
During an appearance on The Shop Live at Fanatics Fest, the 21-year-old San Antonio Spurs star said that he keeps a note on his phone that he logs questions to ask of star players like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. He said he takes notes on the conversations and described the notes as "super precious."
"I have a note on my phone with questions to ask KD, Bron... I had the chance to talk to Jokic for 45 minutes at All-Star. And I'm taking notes. When I'm told something, I don't forget it. It's super precious, for sure."
Wembanyama was the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and won the Rookie of the Year Award for his first season. He then went on to average 24.3 points, 11 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 46 games before missing the remainder of the season with a blood clot in his shoulder.
As a result, the Spurs limped to a 34-48 finish this past season, missing the playoffs. However, San Antonio has a core of Wembanyama and Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle, along with the second-overall pick in the draft, which signals brighter days ahead for the franchise.
With significant expectations hanging over the French center, his desire to document and study is a good sign for his ability to handle the noise.
