Phillies' Bryce Harper Says Wrist Injury Won't Require Surgery, Nearing Return
Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper revealed that he met with doctors who have assured him that his wrist injury won't require surgery, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic.
Harper is "nearing a return" and will see how his wrist feels with ramped up swinging, per Gelb.
On June 7, the Phillies placed the 32-year-old on the 10-day injured list due to right wrist inflammation.

On Friday, Harper took 20 swings from a tee as part of his recovery process and felt better than expected.
“It felt better than I thought it would,” Harper said, via Gelb. “So I’m happy about that.”
He missed five games earlier in the season due to an elbow injury, eventually returning for a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays before the wrist issue surfaced.
"When I came back and I was feeling the pain, it just wasn't a pain I could tolerate on the field," Harper explained, per MLB.com's Paul Casella. "I understand what I can tolerate and what I can't. I've played through pain in my career -- I think everybody has at some point, right? So when I can play through the pain, I do, but it got to the point where I just couldn't do it."
The eight-time All-Star previously dealt with wrist problems during the 2024 season, but was still able to suit up in 145 games.
Harper has racked up nine home runs, 13 doubles, 34 RBIs and 35 walks while posting a .258/.368/.446 slash line in 57 appearances to open his 2025 campaign.
His eventual presence would provide a major boost to a Phillies squad that owns a 45-30 record this season, tied with the New York Mets atop the National League East.
