Jeremiah Fears' Draft Landing Spots Reportedly Seen as Jazz, Pelicans, Nets by Rivals

Timothy RappJun 17, 2025

Oklahoma guard Jeremiah Fears is very likely going to be a top-8 pick.

According to ESPN's Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo, "Fears built significant momentum with the way he finished his season at Oklahoma and has front offices thinking hard about his long-term upside, even with some rough edges left in his game. His range is relatively narrow at this point: The New Orleans Pelicans and Brooklyn Nets are viewed by rival teams as landing spots, and the Utah Jazz at No. 5 appear to be the top end."

The Pelicans pick No. 7 and the Nets are one selection behind them.

The top of the NBA draft seems to be split up into three tiers at this point. The top tier belongs to Cooper Flagg alone, while the second tier is solely comprised of Dylan Harper. The third tier, depending on who you ask, is comprised of players like Ace Bailey, VJ Edgecombe, Tre Johnson, Kon Knueppel and might extend out to Fears, Khaman Maluach and Derik Queen as well.

Fears proved to be a bucket in his lone season for the Sooners, averaging 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 43.4 percent from the floor (but just 28.4 percent from three). It would be a surprise if he lasted long at the June 25 draft.
