NBA Fan Predicted Haliburton Game-Winner, Exact Game 1 Finals Score in Viral Post
Maybe some people can see the future.
The social media account buck4orlife predicted the Indiana Pacers would defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 111-110 thanks to a Tyrese Haliburton game-winning shot ahead of Thursday's Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
It turns out, that is exactly what happened.
It may seem unbelievable on the surface, but anything is possible with these Pacers at this point.
And someone running an account titled buck4orlife would know that better than most, as Indiana overcame a seven-point deficit in the final 40 seconds of overtime in Game 5 of its first-round series against the Milwaukee Bucks to win 119-118.
Fittingly, it was Haliburton who hit the winning shot in that one, just as he did to cap off a dramatic comeback in Game 2 of the team's second-round win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. And perhaps no comeback was more unlikely than the one in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks.
Despite trailing by 14 points in the final three minutes of regulation in that contest, the Pacers came charging back to force overtime with Haliburton's buzzer-beating shot. They then won in the extra period and never looked back in the series.
Given that backdrop, Indiana trailing the entire contest in Game 1 of the NBA Finals just to steal the win and home-court advantage with a Haliburton winner in the final second was just business as usual for the Eastern Conference representative.
Still, predicting the final score and finish is impressive.
