French Open 2025 Results Day 10 Bracket Winners, Losers, Highlights at Roland-Garros

Nicholas NathansonJun 3, 2025

Carlos Alcaraz is now just two wins away from becoming the third man in the past 25 years to win consecutive titles at Roland-Garros (Gustavo Kuerten and Rafael Nadal).

The 22-year-old put on a clinic against No. 12 Tommy Paul to set up a matchup in the semifinal with Lorenzo Musetti, who defeated Frances Tiafoe in four sets to continue his impressive clay-court season.

In the women's draw, Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka will face off at the French Open for the first time in their careers.

Swiatek triumphed over Elina Svitolina in straight sets, advancing toward her goal of becoming the first woman in the Open Era to achieve a four-peat at Roland-Garros.

Meanwhile, Sabalenka defeated Zheng Qinwen in just under two hours to reach the semifinal for the second time in her career.

Below, you can find the results and top reactions from Tuesday's quarterfinal play.

Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz must have been watching Jannik Sinner play yesterday.

The Spaniard put on a masterclass performance with 96 minutes of gut-punching power and aggression en route to a straight-set win over Tommy Paul.

Alcaraz had struggled in his previous three matches, dropping a set in each of them.

But, very early on, the defending champion ensured that wouldn't be the case, racing off to a one-set lead in just 30 minutes behind near-perfect serving and a barrage of winners.

In the second set, Alcaraz was equally dominant, breaking Paul twice and riding the momentum behind his newly near-unbreakable serve and blistering groundstrokes.

Paul finally found his form in the third set; however, the Spaniard was able to break late with an aggressive backhand return to serve out the most dominant win of his tournament run so far.

The four-time major champion has now won 20 out of 21 matches on clay this season and continues to be the strong favorite to win the tournament.

Lorenzo Musetti Ends Frances Tiafoe's Cinderella Run

Lorenzo Musetti

Frances Tiafoe entered the quarterfinal in dominant form, becoming the first American to reach the last 8 at Roland-Garros without dropping a set since 1995 in Roland-Garros.

It took clay-court specialist Lorenzo Musetti all of 35 minutes to end that streak.

In the second set, Tiafoe broke Musetti early and stayed aggressive at the baseline, finding the net success that has been so crucial to him this week.

But most importantly, he found ways to adapt to Musetti's topspin-heavy one-handed backhand on second serve returns, winning 75 percent of second serve points in the second set—33 more percent than the opening set.

In the third set, both players continued to hold serve until Musetti found an opening late and broke Tiafoe to take a two-set-to-one lead.

Musetti carried that momentum into the fourth set, immediately breaking Tiafoe by using his signature defense and forcing him to make the first mistake.

The Italian forced Tiafoe into playing his style of long rallies en route to grabbing the fourth set with ease.

The No. 8 seed has now won 19 of 22 matches on the clay-court surface and is into the semifinal at Roland-Garros for the first time in his career.

Iga Swiatek Rolls On, Eyes SF Match With Aryna Sabalenka

Iga Swiatek

Iga Swiatek's quest for a historic four-peat at Roland-Garros is still very much alive.

Swiatek won the first set 6-1 against Elina Svitolina, but it was not without challenge, as she had to save three break points against the 30-year-old.

In the second set, Svitolina broke Swiatek to take a 3-1 lead and potentially a stranglehold on the set. However, the three-time defending champion broke right back before finding her rhythm and baseline aggression to overwhelm the Ukrainian.

In the semifinals, the No. 5 seed will face Aryna Sabalenka in their first-ever match at Roland-Garros.

The head-to-head matchup on clay has been historically one-sided, as Swiatek has prevailed in five of their six matches; however, this is expected to be much closer, with Sabalenka in significantly better form than on previous occasions.
