Lakers, Warriors, Heat, Spurs to Play in 2025 California Classic Summer League
There's one notable omission from the field in this year's California Classic Summer League.
The Golden State Warriors will host the four-team event, with the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs making the trip to Chase Center.
This is the first time since the California Classic's inception in 2018 that the Sacramento Kings won't be taking part. The Kings were the original hosts before Chase Center entered the rotation.
This year's edition will feature six games across three days (July 5, 6 and 8). The Heat and Spurs will open the festivities, with Golden State vs. Los Angeles to follow.
The California Classic is largely a tune-up for the Las Vegas Summer League, which has grown to become a major offseason spectacle. Fans are eager for their first look at the top prospects in the 2025 NBA draft class.
The Spurs have the No. 2 overall selection in the draft. Assuming they keep that pick, the California Classic could instead be the first time the newest addition to San Antonio's young core will be stepping onto the floor with the team.
